Nasty and wonder why have bed bugs become an epidemic in the USA in hotels, kids camps, and in expensive apartments like the one the Saturday Night Live actress rented and successfully sued the owner for?

Bugs that eat blood carry disease like Lyme Disease which is incurable and quite debilitating.

It's called proper sanitation of linens and there wouldn't be such a problem. If you think the linens in the camp are dirty, then they should be washed (preferably with a bleach/chlorine solution to kill anything possibly living in the linens). This is all just lack of oversight on the faculty's part.

Bedbugs are not native to the US. Due to the increased amount of illegal immigrants soiling our country, the bedbug problem has resurfaced.
Destroy the BIGbug in order to rid the bedbug.

yeah, SV above is correct, the bedbug problem had all but vanished in the US and all of a sudden we have a problem again? Hmm, can't imagine who's responsible for this.

we had also almost eradicated TB from our society only to have that returning. But we must embrace and celebrate all this lovely diversity.

I went to Hashawha from 8-19 (I am 20 now) and the camp does not provide linens! The beds plastic and scrubbed down after the campers leave. The bathrooms are completed mopped and cleaned.

INFACT They even go as far as each bunk row needs to be head toe so that all campers get proper air flow!

So please do not judge Hashawha if you haven't been there or know about the center that well!!!

In the 11 years I went to that camp I NEVER had a problem besides a little sun burn!

You racists are truly uneducated. This camp is located in the heart of white America. Although the Latino population is growing, the vast majority, like 95+ percent, are white. Very few minorities in this county. So now you gonna blame the whites?

nope, I'll bet my balls you can trace the source back to some boarder hopper. It is strongly suspected that the other cases that have appeared recently in hotels and such are the result of increased immigrants with poor hygiene. Many camps are hosts to kids from outside the area anyway.

Are you sure the bed bugs aren't trousered?

The vast majority of people have never seen or heard of bed bugs except in the context of some mystical “boogieman.” Parents would commonly say,“Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite,” as children were put to bed. In fact, bed bugs were also relatively rare for researchers to encounter until the past decade or so. This was largely due in part to the wide spread use and availability of insecticides and improved hygiene.

Once the scourge of every homeowner, bed bugs were thought to have disappeared, particularly with the widespread use of DDT during the 1940s and 1950s. However, there have been nascent populations which have continuously existed throughout the world. Locations in the near and middle east, Africa, Central and South America and Europe have all remained. More recent attention to the presence of bed bugs has been observed in the United States and Australia where they have become highly visible in the hotel and lodging industry. They are increasingly being encountered in homes, apartments, hotels, motels, dormitories, shelters and modes of transport. It is widely believed that international travel and immigration have contributed to the resurgence of bed bugs in this country as well as others. Reliance on integrated pest management (IPM) practices which do not use insecticides and the reduction in the number of different active ingredients are among factors believed to have contributed to this current resurgence trend.

Its pathetic how common citizens can quickly deduce the serious problems of out of control border jumpers but our dumbass politicians ignore it. Yet they will drain entire ponds in the effort to erradicate the snake head fish, for being an invasive species.

no, baggy trousered, with a calling card and cell phone, and a big dumb grin like they have no idea how they got here or what they're doing here.

Most of these guys who hate the immigrants are the same types that would get jealous in high school whenever a foreign exchange student came to town. All the hot girls would go ga-ga over them just because they had an accent and cool clothes. They fear what they don't understand because their tiny little minds can't comprehend and their skinny little white wangs aren't being used. Nothing worse than a middle aged balding, pudgey white guy. Bring on the immigrants, illegal or not, it just gives girls like me a nicer selection to choose from.

Omg lets get back to the point...

For whatever reason bedbugs were at the camp.
HOPEFULLY all the children are OK that go there..

And the camp typically does not get used during the holiday season (July 4th) so hopefully everything will be SAFE for the CAMPERS!!!

Lets be real, immigrantion is not changing anytime soon so just get used to it!

You don't know what you're talking about. Bedbugs are a much more serious issue in nations with which we don't share a border. There's no more reason to suspect illegal immnigrants than American diplomats or businessmen who travel to third world nations often.

In other words, you're basically insane for blaming it on Mexicans, and it says a lot about how badly your mind malfunctions in general.

If you look at the comments on this thread, it's really not difficult to figure out why the rest of the world thinks Americans are dangerously stupid.
