What happened to the first four posts on this subject? It seems someone erased them.

What king of concerned parent are you? You still do not know what is going on in this school you are so "concerned" about. You thing you have the right to slander an individual by publishing her name!! I think you need to go back to school to learn how schools work (or do not work) in Massachusetts. What is your "family members" name? Let us know, you seem to like that. How do you know that the "public" comes into the school at all times of the day for "services"? Please, stick to what you know. That would be __________

Joe, Are you for real?
Iíll begin by openly admitting that I do know Mr. DeSimone although not as well as many of you out there who have read this thread and have not found it necessary to speak up on his behalf. Iím not worried about protecting my personal gain at the expense of someone else. My post name is my real name. Perhaps you too should do the same.
Those of you who do know Mr. DeSimone can better attest to the caliber of person he is. His personal and professional characters are being tarnished here by speculations of ďwhat he didĒ a few weeks ago. Many of you (staff, administrators and school committee members) know that this is not about what the principal did; itís about a maniacal, narcissistic superintendent whose only concern is retaining power over others and promoting himself!
The real issues;
No one really care who Culkeen sleeps with, the issue here is conduct unbecoming of a superintendent. He is having an affair with a subordinate, not someone who is in another school district.
What advancements personal and professional (pay, career advancement, status) is this person getting from Culkeen? As Concerned Parent mentioned ďher current position which is from what I hear just ones step under Culkeen... She had more authority than the prinicpal.Ē This defies conventional wisdom.
The Principal vacancy seems to be an ongoing issue. Most people have considered the fact that prior applicants just were not qualified. Mr. DeSimoneís professional accomplishments in education and his prior achievements for his school districts lead many of us (parents, teachers and his colleagues) to believe this would be the last of the vacancy. This position once again is vacant. Doesnít this warrant further investigation?
Consider the problem Culkeen and not the prior principals.
Culkeenís professional license requires that among other things, he;
Acts with integrity, fairness, and professionalism
Holds teachers, students, and self to high standards of performance and behavior
Meets his or her legal and moral responsibilities
Yes the School Committee must look in to this matter deeply and they need to act this time rather than sweeping this under the rug as they have done in the past.
For the rest of you who know more than you let on, and yet hide behind these posts under pseudo names. Donít you think itís time to step it up? Call your school committee member and demand a full investigation into these matters.
Nothing at Monty is going to change if you continue to hide. Culkeen will still be in charge and the next article might be about you!

What is wrong with people on this blog? Have any of you been going to open house and seen how this school has evolved in the past 10 years?
This is not just a school to go to if regular High School is not for you. It is not easy to get into like it was 20 years ago. This school has over 700 applicants for 350 freshman slots.
When you walk in the front door you can see how the school has transformed from the early 70's decor to a sleek new updated decor with a fountain,tiling and cosmetic updates. All done from the Masonry department!
The academic department is doing it's job! MCAS scores show that. The number of students going onto college is increasing every year. And if you go to open house, you can see the amazing special ed resources they have for children with learning differences. I had a child that was offered, if he went to NM, a study block in the library for learning support with one teacher and 25 other students. At Monty tech the learning support offered more than one teacher in the learning support classroom. All the resources needed to succeed and laptops for all students to use in learning support.
The trades at this school are adding more and more state of the art equipment every year. The teachers are all skilled craftsmen and women that are teaching their trades to these students. And giving back to Community. If you look around you always see in the newspaper the community projects these students are doing for towns in their district. If you have a minute go to Cogshall Park, there is a big sign in front of the building that was burned down that is being rebuilt. Just one of the many projects they have helped with.
If your car needs a sticker, automotive. If your car has been in a crash, auto collision repair. When you walk through the door, students working the receptionist desk, office technology. If you need your hair colored or cut, cosmetology. If you are hungry, stop by their lovely restaurant.
This school is placing at Skills USA competitions. Monty tech is a gem! The Superintendant has been increasing the exposure to the school and has been instrumental in the improvements at this school.
Who am I? I am a proud Aunt and Mother of students that have received outstanding education at this school. All three of these students went on to College after graduating!
I feel that the Superintendant has done an outstanding job at this school. If you have walked through the doors of the school, you would see what I see. I suggest you all attend the open house.
Policy is Policy.

Mr. Culkeen is really a very disingenuous, unprincipled scoundrel of a little man, and he deserves everything rotten that comes his way, be it verbal or otherwise. A school is only as good as its leadership; the decline of Monty Tech is imminent. Regardless of what the current principal's transgressions may be, it is certain that Culkeen has done far worse and gotten away with it. I have witnessed his use of school funds for personal use, including dinners out, family cellphones, loaning out the school car to his children, etc... Moreover, he has shamelessly degraded female employees with no repercussions - indeed, at least one of them actually likes it to the tune of having left her husband and children to take up with Mr. Culkeen in exchange for a promotion. One of these days, the School Committee over there will stop sitting pat on the back-door car repairs and catering and cut and colors and carpentry etc... work they get on the cheap through Culkeen's office and start doing their jobs by trying to see the leader of that school for who he really is: a complete fake.
If town and city voters have any sense, they'll flat out refuse to fund his budget proposals.
