I am firm that checks and test cars that people think they have been dooped. my post today is to tell of bob kohns 1997 dodge pick up on 6/16/2010 he brought his pick up in for an oil change for 16.95 they did not change the filter as the tag was printed on the filter from when stock oil co had changed it on 1/12/2010. after draining the oil on6/17/2010 the oil failed the test for viscosity and parafins for protection and ware and was a very dark grey. after placeing a new filter and new oil in the truck and test driveing the truck for the same milage and conditions as from there oil change till we drained it.we drained out our oil a name brand the oil clarity was ten times better and passed all test and the oil pressure was 9 lbs higer. In short we can not recoumend there services we tried to contacte them on mr kohn behalf and was rudly treated and told us to go away

I am so thankful, for reviews like this. i was shopping around trying to find an oil change shop. Came across, this company and called. Was told $20.09 out the door. They never mentioned anything about the different types of oil required. After reading all of the reviews, i decided to call back and ask some questions about the different oil used. Was told that those are lies but is everybody lying on you!!!!. My question is this place still open? Why isn't it shut down? Well, I am glad I read these reveiws. Who knows how much business sites like this one is and will cost them!!!!! It's wonderful!!! I am sorry that you had to pay a cost to help others. I thank you for posting. i will be sure to put it on my facebook site as well.

When in for an oil change. Check my oil at the next gas fill up. The oil was very dark and black. They did not change the oil.

To the guy who confirmed his own oil level and then was told his oil was very low; this is a very simple trick.

The guy held the dipstick so you couldn't see the part that seats on the tube. Then he "quickly" dips the stick in and out showing little or no oil on the very end. Of course he did not insert the dipstick in all the way!

Sounds like this criminal should be outed on TV!

It's an ok shop.
I had my oil change done there and while they were at it they checked the air filter. It was so dirty you could barley see any light through it. I only have enough money for the oil change. They threw a new air cleaner in for free.
As a way of thanking them I give the guys a "handy".

I work long hours so my time is very limited. I went to Big Ray's on Waverly Rd in Lansing during my lunch. I was the only one waiting for the first 15 minutes. Then two more customers got in line. They opened the second and third bay doors and waved those two in, leaving me still in line even after they had seen me pull up first. Customer Service at it's finest.

Just took my truck in for an oil change. They tried selling me the engine flush. I declined it. When i got home I checked under the truck...sure enough, same oil filter I had on before. I guess it's back to doing the oil changes myself.

Went to Big Rays Fri.in Livonia on Newburgh. Only took 5 minutes. Asked the guy if he changed filter stated he had. Got home crawled under the truck and filter was filthy. Went back and told the manager and we pulled it in the stall and went downstairs and he immediately started wiping off the filter with a rag, tried to convince me that was from the attendants hands. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE PEOPLE. Nothing but a rip off.

I took my work van into the Big Rays in Livonia. I have been there several times but noticed that all they do anymore is apparently change oil. They used to check tire pressure, fill washer fluid, and check all the other fluid levels. So I had been suspicious of them for awhile. This time I decided to do a little experiment. Before I went in for a oil change, I went under my van and put an big"X" on the oil filter with a sharpie. After my oil change, I went to my shop and looked under the van and saw the same oil filter with the big "X" on it. STAY AWAY from this location. They are ripping people off and try to sell everything but the kitchen sink to you.

Kym,
Do think it's appropriate to give the guys a "handy"?
A thank you would have sufficed.
