Wow, that public education and government welfare system is working real well in Mich., huh? If I saw that happening there would be 3 less teens around clogging the penal system.

What ever happened to inocent until proven guilty! Has anyone been tried yet! Has anyone listened to their story yet? The man was not just poor with no job. He was a Junkey that also made troble and was in and out of jail. I hear 10 different stories. And Yes the michigan education and welfare sucks, so does the whole USA. So I suppose we will see alot more of this. PEOPLE ARE HUNGRY right here, and the school funds are cut down to nothing! So blame the Government. Why do you think there is so much violence in poor countrys. Well ours is headed the same direction.

I worked with one of these 3 teens and I am in shock still. I work with many teens who are no good but william was one person who was never violent, who always listened to my directions and often expressed his plans for the future. He is a caring person who never let anyone get upset at work or feel down. There has to be more to this than what is being said. This teen was very mature for his age. I dont believe it was premediated or something these kids thought was fun, but maybe there was more to the story. I know william and he wouldnt hurt anyone, i know this for a fact. At work when a situation looked bad (two kids arguing or fighting) william always either stayed out of it or tried to change the topic. he avoided situations like that at all cost. I dont blame michigan, or anyone but i do plead for all to get all the facts and see all aspects of this case before its too late becuase maybe all 3 teens are not at fault maybe just in the wrong place at wrong time with wrong people.

You dont't even live around this area and see what goes one here. I working with alot of wayne-westland teens, and yes it the past couple years we have deveolped a problem with teen crime but also the police and courts are extremly hard on the youth here. ( i saw 2 kids being handcuffed for throwing a piece of paper beside a garbage can) these kids around her alot of them are bad but i know one of the kids involved and i know he could have touched that man for no reason or even at all. there is more too it than is being told. granted things are bad in michigan and in the suburbs are looking like a poor busy city with more homeless roaming the streets everyday. but it doesnt help anyone here when outsiders like you get involved and draw concusions on use look at your own community to find negitivity if you must.

I really wish everyone would get the story straight. For the last 2 or 3 weeks all 3 of these kids had been basically staying with me. We were all friends, we hung out everyday, and did basically everything together. I know for a fact they did not intentionally kill that man. We seen that man everyday and we even talked to him a few times. Everytime we've talked to him these 3 kids were very nice and polite. I would just like everybody to stop gossiping when they don't know what really happened.

I have no idea what all happened and i dont know if they did it or not but if the guy was a drunk and was in jail all the time also a bum then why dont they look into that? but the story can also turn arond and they could of done it. Plus if they didnt do it why was the guy all beaten ^ im sure he didnt do it himself.

Steven Dingman was no better though I must admit, I have found him under my car on several occasions drinking a 40 oz malt liquor. Everytime I told him to leave he got very irate with me and one time he threatened to let "his dog" bite me which was appearently at "his house." I told him to go ahead and do that and then I phoned the Wayne Police Department.

It has nothing to do with the welfare or the education that wayne-westland schools provide to us students, because most of us students arent on the tv news.

A lot of people grew up with these teenagers or knew them in away or another. I knew William (Billy) and he wasnt so bad until we got up to high school and then he changed (started to make new friends that werent such a good group to hang out with.)

And maybe all they were doing was protect themselves. But that doesnt give them the right to just kill a guy, and just because the guy they killed was on drugs or whatever doesnt mean that it was fair to have 3 of them go against 1. So I do think that all 3 of them did kill the guy, even if they didnt do it on purpose they still did it and they should be punished for what they did

Where in the article does it say that the murder victim was junkie? And so what if he was? It's okay to murder him and for $3 to boot? Why should the government take blame? They weren't there. What ever happened to taking responsibility for your actions? The government is not your key to success or failure...you are. I think we are way too lax with punishing these types of crimes and so they are committed with abandon especially by young people who know that they will never have to answer for their behavior because there's always some bleeding heart out there ready to blame society and the government for their problems.

I am Bill and Carlos's brother and they been screw ups all there life. Always not listening and doing things they wanted to do. My parents did everything they could to change there life around. They both started smoking and drinking and doing drugs when they were 14 and they were just messed up, but I know alot of kids in wayne/westland area are like that to but not stupid like my brothers. They would be locked up in the house not allowed to go anywhere or do anything, we even took there door's down so they had no privacy. They went to consuling and bill was on meds for his bi polar. Bill getting in all kinds of trouble with my parents and even stole my dad's wayne gretsky rookie card and sold it for $1200 at some card shop. Not only that but stealing expansive christmas gifts and selling them. I have no idea what he was trying to buy or do with all the money, he never kept anything here. Carlos is just a wannabe, always following people and trying to act tough. He's just a stupid kid who justs follows his own rules and show off in front of people. He is a big shit talker but never did anything. When this all happend I was at Parris Island, SC going through basic training for the USMC. When my dad told me what happend I thought it was a joke. I didn't even think they would end up killing someone. I don't know the whole story nor have I talked to my brothers about it, just what I have heard and gatherd. The only way I could think of this is if the guy started the fight due to the fact he didnt know what was going to happen. They wouldnt go up to someone and start attacking him unless he did something to piss off bill extremly. I've seen bill go through his phase when he gets extremly pissed or upset about something and punch holes through walls and punch the mirrors but not a person, he wouldnt do that. I don't know what the bussness with them and this guy was but it wasnt going to be a robbery or death, it just lead to beating him up and of the 3 I can see carlos saying "lets take his cash" or some shit like that, it's something he would do. But I dont beleive the 3 started the fight.

What part of thou shall not kill do we not understand! This man was dead in five minutes says one of the 22 eye witnesses! He was beaten with a pipe ! Nearly Every part of his body had a Broken bone including his neck, leg, and internal organs according to the med. exam. report. This guy was unarmed and about 130 lbs. Try a background check on him and you wont find much at all! He had an apt. In wayne. He might of had a drug problem but did he deserved to die? Who are we to judge! He without sin may cast the first stone! While he was being kicked in the head and yelling for help, did these three guys think at one point that enough is enough and that maybe we are going too far! Did their seed of thought tell them to stop but they didnt listen! How could they think this guy could live after such a brutal beating! signed: Worried resident.

it doesnt matter how much of a mess up somebody is. i dont care how much of a druggie that man was or an alcohlic or whatever, that doesnt change the fact that somebody was KILLED. i cant believe that some people are thinking that they can cut down who this man was in order to try and state that what those kids did is tolerable. A MAN DIED. people dont have the right to place a certain persons life below others because they made decisions that were bad for them and therefore try and make it sound like what those teens did was legit. and you cant blame the government or anybody else for what those teens did. Everybody in the united states knows that killing another person is not fine, that there are consequences for taking a life, even if some people think that it wasnt a good life. thoses teens knew what they were doing was wrong, and i feel like they didnt mean for him to die, but if they werent willing to take the chance and suffer the consequences then they should have never started any of this in the first place. its sad that people cant just say what those teens did was morally wrong, instead they have to try and blame it on something or someone. i mean, there are millions of people suffering from poverty and i dont see all of them killing people for three dollars.
