Alyssa,
The word is you, that's Y-O-U, if you can't spell it, just use the letter U, and most people would understand. A brain is a horrible thing to waste, start using yours.
What school system provided your education? I want to make sure my children don't have to go there.
I could have not said it better myself!

It's Barack Obama. Not Barrack.

What's that about before you call someone stupid make sure you're not stupid too?

No one is perfect and the whole situation is very sad. I know Wes and I know he is a great person. He would never intend to harm a soul, but bad mistakes were made. Answering a text while driving, having just 2 beers and driving, doing drugs and walking in the middle of the streets saying I want to die, all these things were bad choices that came together that night and changed many lives. It shouldn't be about money, it shouldn't be about blame, it shouldn't be about anything spiteful it should be about making things right and moving on while learning a important lesion. I have had a similar situation happen to me and I can tell you it hurts, it sucks to lose someone you love and never e able to get them back, but what how will money help? How will sending Wes to jail help? How will making him pay help? People should look at it as what happened to to Gary was to teach people. God has a plan for everyone and half the time it doesn't make sense, but there is still a reason. Wouldn't it make sense if Wes truly had a problem and is so at fault and needs to pay wouldn't getting him help be the answer? AA, driving school community service? Sitting in jail day in and day out wont do anything. Use gary as a tool to help someone else not ruin someone else's life.

it's a horrible situation all around, everyone has their opinions and me writing this blog is just one of the many, but having been though something like this I wish I had someone to maybe help me see it in a different light. Its so easy to see the bad when it hits you in the face as hard as it has, but if you push back a little you might be able to see some of the good. My heart goes out to everyone, Wes, Gary and all the family and friends

I was one of the first people to see Gary after he was born. I wil never forget how proud MRS.BROWN was to show off Gary. He was loved so much by his family, and I was very upset to hear about this tragic accident. I'm sure he's resting good now.

I think all of you need to take a spelling class!! And why all the nasty words, makes everyone look pretty stupid. If you have to testify better clean up your mouth or you wont have a leg to stand on right from the beginning

I'm sorry to both families 2. But I agree on the whole accident part. And when someone is upset they can have periodic malfunctions in what they do. So stop picking on Alyssa for her spelling.(I feel for you my best friend died the same way.)Sounds to me like a whole bunch of rumors are going around and people are stating what they hear...and its okay to say your opion but please don't be a not wanted judge.(and yes I am not the worlds best speller either but all you can do is try.) People aren't perfect. Wes's family is in the same pain as Gary's so cut eachother some slack...ok?

A similar incident occurred several years ago on the east side. The driver in that case was not tested until hours after the accident (a fatality). I think he ended pleading no contest to manslaughter, but the alcohol related charges were dropped.
Does anyone have an update regarding the legal proceedings?

It seems to me like they were both at fault. Gary by being drunk and walking in the middle of the road at 4:30 in the morning. That just isn't very bright, but may God rest his soul. The driver was wrong IF he was driving drunk. If he was NOT driving while intoxicated he was wrong only for not stopping. Personally, I think it was just a terrible ACCIDENT caused by both parties, but sad to say probably mostly caused by the victim for walking in the middle of the road when it was dark outside and hard for anyone to see him. If that is the case, there are two victims, the dead man as well as the driver...not to mention all the friends and relatives of both men. May God bring peace to them all.
