What a nice quiet hobby. It can be expensive to start, but very educational for kids. It could point them towards an engineering degree. When I was a kid all I had was small gas engines. Some kids with money build scale planes with six foot wing spans and lawn mower engines. These were controlled by a tethered wire and you really had to lean back to keep it going in a circle. People would even have dog fights with two guys standing in the center rotating in circles together. Today that might be considered provocative.
