And you think this is what DumBama and the Democrats have been doing all along and are doing today?

I think that it can be argued that the word liberal has morphed to some degree just as some words can do over time by a change in usage.

As I have pointed out here on TOPIX time & again, those who currently call themselves "liberals" are ill liberal & are anything but liberal. Actually they favor STATISM, which is the opposite of liberalism!

Definition of STATISM:
: concentration of economic controls and planning in the hands of a highly centralized government often extending to government ownership of industry

You probably also believe that WE don't have a spending problem, WE have a 'failure to pay for' problem. Or that taxes have not been raised, that has been 'revenue enhancement'. You probaly believe that 'Stimulus Spending' or 'Quantitative Easing' had no affect on the debt too.
You are funnier than a Missouri State Fair Rodeo Clown !!

Yes. But, in the last 25 years, attitudes in our country have taken a very hard turn to the right. Imagine a President today that would create a new government agency to deal with environmental problems ... and then create another government agency that would enforce new workplace safety laws ... and then (for good measure)institute wage and price controls. The craziest "liberal" would never try any of that now. But Richard Nixon did all those things, and he was a very conservative Republican. Right now his actions would be too "liberal", even for the Democratic party.

From my posts, Canton has NO good idea as to my party affiliation, whether or not I have any sort of trust fund, false teeth, wear diapers, drive a truck, ride a hover round, my personal race or if I am a racist to any degree, white, black, Asian, bi-racial or even my accurate age.
The funniest part is that ALL of this is true & that Canton is totally clueless. Again, ROFLMAO
I do also KNOW this tho, people that resort to repetitive name calling & or make baseless claims have NO logical position to voice. So their words are also baseless. How could one knowing that become 'mean' about that?
You'll have to forgive Canton. He gets like this when global warming disappears and he needs a jacket in the middle of August. Let me see if I can help as I thought of this looking at the weather forecast this morning:

DON'T WORRY CANTON, GLOBAL WARMING IS COMING BACK! Just look at evil Fox 8 weather forecast:

http://fox8.com/weather/forecast/

If you don't have time to click the link during your busy day, here is an excerpt:

"We had a 9 days stretch of temps above 80 in the middle of July. If the 8day forecast holds, we could see a weeks worth of 80+ warmth!

Provided by Scott Sabol: By the way, I ran the numbers for the ENTIRE SUMMER starting on June 1st. Believe it or not, this summer is NEAR AVERAGE compared to all of the summers since 1983. 18 summers since 1983 have been COOLER than this summer"

Feel better now that the "Invisible man in the sky" has responded to your agony Canton? Have a nice day Canton, Pops and everybody else. I'll get back to you all when I get home from work :-D

Funding High Risk/High Reward Technologies:
Originated under the Bush administration, President Obama launched ARPA-E in 2009.
ARPA-E is modeled after the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, a small arm of the Pentagon created after the Soviet launch of the first satellite, Sputnik. DARPA's job was to take back the lead in the space race and then win the Cold War, and in it's history it was crucial in the creation of the GPS, the stealth fighter and the Internet.
ARPA-E's job is to do the same to energy, by finding viable technologies with the potential to transform the American energy landscape but that are too early, to risky or too academic to attract regular investors. ARPA-E steps in where the market won't by getting inventors the resources-money, business expertise, lab space- to see if the idea can be translated into reality. Many of them will fail. The hope is that a few successes will be sufficient to create a radically altered world.
More than 3,000 people gather each February for ARPA-E's Energy Innovation Summit. Entrepreneurs, regulators and investors cruise the aisles with military officers, academics and utility executives. Some ideas being shown;
www.electrofuels.org
http://youtu.be/iF9f6o5W81
www.makanipower.com

Grantee Cree displayed a 1-megawatt silicon carbide transistor the size of a fingernail. A suitcase-size box filled with the transistors could one day replace the 8,000-pound transformers in substations everywhere.
Alliant Techsystems took technology it developed for use in supersonic wind tunnels and built a prototype that scrubs the carbon dioxide out of smoke stack emissions. If it works, the life of hundreds of coal plants could be extended indefinitely.
Oh, by the way, Makani's idea was funded by the Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Administration in 2010 and acquired by Google in May.

Sorry truck driver. As much as I know you are a fetch boy for the oil industry, I'll stick to getting my information from NASA and the overwhelming majority of weather experts. You know, the guys who accurately predicted the hottest decade in recorded history? I'm sure you remember. It was when the Koch Brother oil billionaires were spending millions to form your opinions on global weather trends. Not that being a fat truck driver doesn't make you an expert.

Also, why are there so many pedophiles in your political party? Any particular reason why there are several times as many kiddie gropers in the GOP than you'll ever find with the Democrats? Wonder why that is? Perhaps that explains why you guys are always thinking the Feds are coming after you. It also explains why you guys want so many guns. Romney should have promised you guys a big doomsday Bible bunker full of toddlers. Anyway, back to you guys trying to tell America how to run the country. As if anyone cares.
