Those aren't skilled jobs. Those are trades. The only reason people can make decent wages off trades is because of unions. Do you see all the infrastructure that was built in the late 19th and early 20th century using trade workers? They didn't get paid [email protected] until unions came into being because it's not skilled work. A bricklayer or carpenter dies on the job, there are dozens waiting to take his place. I'm talking engineers, developers, and accountants. You're talking monkey jobs.<quoted text>
Why would Republican politicians care about what people pay for wages in this country? They don't care about that because it doesn't buy them one vote. Democrat politicians on the other hand have a huge investment in illegals; most of them believe in the cradle to grave system and will vote Democrat in the future.
I think what you should do is make more friends down south like in Texas or Arizona. Tell THEM that illegals are not taking on skilled jobs such as bricklaying, carpentry, electricians, remodelers. You really think that contractors don't hire and train illegals; that these non-English speaking people can't repair a toilet or snake out a sewer line?
You are correct that taxing and spending has gotten much worse through the years, and it's people like you that are to blame. You know "vote for your self-interest?" If you surrender your dignity, then you've surrendered everything. How do you think we got to the point where half of the people in this country pay no income tax? How do you think we got to the point where half of the people in this country live either partially or entirely on the federal government? Because of people like me????
Keep voting for your own interest while I vote for the best interest for the future of our country. If more people would turn off Dancing With The Stars and start paying attention to politics, you would see how fast they stop wasting money, because the worst enemy of a politician is an educated voter.
"I cannot undertake to lay my finger, on that article of the Constitution, that grants Congress the right of expending on articles of benevolence, the money of their constituents."
James Madison. Annals of Congress, 1794
I will keep voting what's best for me. If that's how the big boys do it, why shouldn't I?
And I don't hear you complaining about the U.S. locking up all these non-violent drug offenders. Why don't you rally against that government waste? The U.S. locks up more people than any other country. Who foots the bill? The tax payer. Who foots the bill when these people become unemployable because of criminal records? You do. But who gets rich off the prison industrial complex? The corporations. LOL But I never hear Republicans talking about implementing something like Portugal's decriminalization policy. Why not rally against the bloated military budget? You guys aren't against government waste. You guys are just bitter. Go fly to the Bahamas and enjoy life. Your government doesn't care about you and obviously you don't care about true government waste.
