We all basically become a persona on here that is far more polarized than what we live in the real world. I have yanked your chain about smoking on here but also have tried to offer you some advice on the matter. I do that because my "friend" who quit smoking for 6 months is actually my wife and I. I myself have smoked since I was 12. Between the two of us, we were smoking about 3 packs a day. About a pack and a half each. We tried the e-smokes but ended up going back to what we call "reallies" anytime the sh1t hit the fan, like a death in the family. After trying 3 different e-smokes, we finally researched it and found Halo brand. I haven't had a real cigarette since I started using them and have no craving at all. Please, do yourself a favor and check them out. They hit hard and they satisfy my addiction to nicotine. None of the other brands we tried worked like they do and the stuff is made in the USA. We were spending close to $18 a day between the two of us on cigarettes and now spend about $20 every week and a half. Please, if you want to know any more about them, let me know. We even tried a bunch of the juices and I can tell you which ones we liked. Mind you, I am fully aware that my nuts will get smashed on here for being a "hypocrite", but I am cool with that if it helps you out. I have twice the energy and feel notably better since I started using the e-smokes and I am the type of person that if it didn't cut it, I'd go buy a pack of cigarettes right now. 6 months in and not 1 cigarette. My friends even smoke around me and it doesn't phase me.
Let the hate begin. Being hated for helping a brother out is cool with me.
What's next? Did you vote for McCain/ Romney too? ;-D

Ah yes, typical liberal that thinks he knows everything and knows nothing.

Actually I discovered my disease when I was taking amino acids because I was working out with weights heavily. I was on a high protein diet and was in the best shape in my life. Then I began to lose a lot of weight which I attributed to all the exercises I was doing. But my frequent bathroom trips were very unusual, so the nurse at work recommended I take a glucose meter home with me and test myself a few times.

For whatever reason, the amino acids really shot my sugar up. If not for them, I might have not discovered my problem for months or years later.

It's really a personal responsibility issue. You're mewling that you don't want healthcare covering other people, but that it most decidedly should be extended to you at a price you deem suitable to cover the health concerns that have arisen out of your own bad habits.
It's that when you express a standard you expect others to hold themselves to, they'll think you a hypocrite when you explain why the same standards shouldn't be applied to yourself.
I've never had anything against people getting healthcare coverage, just don't take it from me.

You see, government doesn't have any money. They don't produce a product or sellable service. Therefore, if government gives you a loaf of bread, they have to take that bread away from somebody else, somebody else that earned that bread.

Socialism is about taking from producers and giving to the non-producers. So when the producers are robbed of what is rightly theirs, don't say "it's your responsibility" to pony up even more.

You're aware that under systems like the NHS, paying for everyone has resulted in dramatically lower costs per capita and as a percentage of the GDP as well as lower costs per head for consumers of healthcare services?

That is to say, you're paying more to be sure that other people aren't being treated. And rather insistent that this continue, which would strike me as strange, had you not already presented yourself as someone for whom critical thinking and statistics would prove unnavigable.

But carry on with your strangely hypocritical complaints that your healthcare isn't set at the price point you would prefer, while staying equally shrill that you don't want a penny going to others.

Ha haaaaa! OK, I had that one coming. Hey, no sh1t on that e-smoke thing. I can't say enough good things about it. I knew the first day it arrived that I was done smoking. It totally and successfully replaced cigarettes for me and I have smoked for a very long time. The first few brands my wife and I tried were inconsistent and difficult to tell when they were going to run out. With the tank system, you can see how much juice is in them and the things are super easy to fill. They easily pay for themselves in the first month. The two juices I like are Prime and Tribeca. They offer two battery sizes with the starter kit for the same price. Get the bigger battery. I rotate mine out every day and have never had a battery die on me. I would start with the 18 ml of nicotine to start out. I can tell you almost 100% that you will be pleasantly surprised if you invest in what I have described. It isn't just a quit smoking gimmick to my wife and I. We actually enjoy it. The main reason I keep nagging you about them is the unbelievable difference it has made in my health. I have been very specific on the brand because it will save you a lot of trial and error. Try it and if it doesn't work for you, we can blame Joe Biden and Sarah Palin for it.

I thought you seemed a little too enthused for just knowing somebody that had one. The truth is I thought you might have had investments in the company. LOL! I believe there is a little capitalist in all of us.

I will give it a try.

Nothing wrong or funny about honesty either. I guess that's why I'm the only truck driver/ landlord on Topix. To be honest, I think half of the critics here are or were smokers at one time. If not that, perhaps some other vice they are too proud to admit to. I've known very few people in my life that didn't have some kind of habit or hangup in their lives.

Census Survey Revisions Mask Health Law Effects
By ROBERT PEARAPRIL 15, 2014

WASHINGTON — The Census Bureau, the authoritative source of health insurance data for more than three decades, is changing its annual survey so thoroughly that it will be difficult to measure the effects of President Obama’s health care law in the next report, due this fall, census officials said.

The changes are intended to improve the accuracy of the survey, being conducted this month in interviews with tens of thousands of households around the country. But the new questions are so different that the findings will not be comparable, the officials said.

An internal Census Bureau document said that the new questionnaire included a “total revision to health insurance questions” and, in a test last year, produced lower estimates of the uninsured. Thus, officials said, it will be difficult to say how much of any change is attributable to the Affordable Care Act and how much to the use of a new survey instrument.

The timing is unfortunate. But, according to the article, these changes have been in the works for 10 years and "...the decision to make fundamental changes in the survey was driven by technical experts at the Census Bureau, and members of Congress have not focused on it or suggested political motives." Still, it looks bad.

That would be fine except for the fact that they tried a test-run last year and found it gave a desired outcome.

With all these numbers the White House is throwing around about Commie Care, it's met with great suspicion since it's difficult to be accurate. I would think that if they were so confident about their numbers, they would prefer the same Census questions that they used to determine the amount of uninsured Americans the last three decades.

you trolls are quite boring, and I will be busy entertaining customers this summer on Lake Erie.

Prior to the elections I will be back to hear you cry.

You are an epic failure, and a hoot to laugh at.
