DR COOKE, YOU NEED TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND SUE THE HELL OUT OF WESTLAKE PD. I HAVE BEEN A COP FOR 12 YEARS AND THERE IS NO REASON YOUR DOG SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHOT. THIS IS THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF BULLSHIT. I COULD GO ON FOR HOURS ABOUT THE MISTAKES THIS COP MADE. THIS COP IS A DYSFUNCTIONAL LIAR WITH NO COMMON SENSE OR JUDGEMENT. MORALES GIVES THE REST OF US A BAD NAME. I HAVE BEEN IN THIS SITUATION COUNTLESS TIMES.GIVE ME A BREAK ! MORALES SHOWS UP TO AN ALARM AND DOES NOT NOTICE ANY SIGN OF DOGS...THEY ARE NOT BARKING? NO SIGNS? NO DOG "MORALES"AKA SHIT IN THE YARD...COME ON THEY HAD THREE. SO THE DUMB ASS MISSES THE SIGNS AND GOES INTO THE BACK YARD. HE IS GREETED BY A BARKING GROWLING YELLOW LAB...NOT A PITBULL , OR A ROT, OR A PESARIO, A YELLOW LAB. AT THIS POINT JUST BACK UP AN LEAVE, CALL THE OWNER AN LET HIM KNOW THE ALARM WENT OFF. IF THE DOG IS SO VICIOUS DO YOU THINK A STRANGER ENTERED THE HOUSE...GIVE ME A BREAK. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE DOG TO BE SHOT. BACK UP AN LEAVE THE DOG IS DOING HIS JOB. THIS COP IS A JOKE I BET I CAN TELL YOU EXCATLY THE WAY HIS BS REPORT READS. DR Cooke don't let this go this guy has no bussiness being a cop.

Hearing something moving in the back yard would sound the same whether it was a lab or a human.
It is very unfortunate that beloved pet had to die, I own a dog too.
He saw it was a dog and the charging part I doubt. Also a dog barking is alot different then someone sneaking around in the yard. A beloved pet didn't have to die there were many other options which he did not take. I seriously doubt that it was a life and death situation he made it out to be. Not to mention he keeps changing his story if that isn't suspicious what is? I if I was the owners I would sue him for eveything he has got and make sure he gets fired he sounds very incompetent.

You would waste you money on a lawyer.
Can you not agree that a dog rummaging around in the back yard sounds just like a person? If not please explain the difference.

It wouldn't be a waste. I am sure the dog barked that is what dogs do when they see or hear a person except for trained attack dogs which this one wasn't.
