What is wrong with our society? My husband and sixteen month old just got back from a Christmas band concert at Westlake and what he told me happened on school property made me sick. Female relatives of a sixth grade student were using the "F" word, "S" word, and numerous other foul terms as a way of communicating with one another. It was obvious to my husband that they did not mind cursing in front of their younger children, but he felt compelled to ask these "ladies" to tone down their language. They told him to put cotton in his ears and continued with their colorful conversation(making sure my husband and son heard them.)What is wrong with these people?- REAL CLASSY! After the concert, my husband told school officals what happened and they knew exactly what child's family was so vulgar. The old saying goes that people who cuss(frequently) have a very limited vocabulary. Is this really what our society is coming to? I have always said "We" are on our second or third generation of idiots, but I always believed there are enough parents with good morals and values that our society could overcome the few bad apples. Parents, teachers, and school adminitrators the time has come to keep a short leash on your children. Let everyone know that this kind of behavior will not be tolarated in public. We can not let these undereducated, classless people keep running our schools. Teachers, just because the majority of parents do not teach our children manners does not mean we should stop expecting good behavior in our classrooms. I was a teacher for fourteen years and I know how hard it is to teach with a classroom full of rude, disruptive children. PARENTS WHO REALLY RAISE YOUR CHILDREN IT IS TIME TO TAKE BACK OUR SCHOOLS. The teachers can not do it alone.
