things are out of control in that place. they are more worried about writing people up becuase they burp, are too loud or if they have a hole in thier shoe then worrying about the care for the residents. it was always a 5 star place when david reynolds was there, now the cnas and nurses are run down, stressed and have to walk on egg shells becuase they are being treated like they are dirt. you hire some dirt bag for a supervisor for laundry who thought he could also change stuff. everything went great the way things were then all of a sudden you as a supervisor get mad becuase u had to work in laundry, you wash all 3 units of clothes together becuase u wanted to sit on your ass all day. the old supervisor was a great supervisor. always helped out when needed. never screwed anyone over. and the laundry girls always did their job, made sure everyone had clothes and linen. the cnas and nurses there work their butts of the little pay they get, they deserve better, people are leaving that place left and right. why come in and change stuff around when things were going good. people got along. people CARED about their job. people wanted to come to work. Now people hate to come to work and the only reason they come to work is for the residents. i give people much credit for still being there after all of this b.s.!

Their bottom line isn't the residents I always loved what I did reguardless and now not so sure I hate seeing what's going on now so what if we always didn't follow policy but it was a you scratch my back I scratch yours not any more you do what I say or move on I understand sometimes things change but not always for the better what are they gonna do when everyone that cared is gone? Go ahead go through my empolyee file and wonder why I'm still empolyed there, at one point someone was able to see through all of that and realize pple make mistakes thing about that is I learned from it and that's what was important

listen here lady, did you see anyone beat a resident? did you ever see someone yell at a resident? when someone is dying there is nothing anyone can do. residents are there because they can no longer take care of themselves, and becuase their children either didnt have time or didnt want the hassel. the cnas and nurses are the ones they see and spend time with EVERYDAY. are you telling me they werentt put to bed or woke up? are you telling me they didnt get showers or washed up? are you telling me no one helped them go to the bathroom or changed thier depends? are you telling me theyre laundry wasnt washed? are you telling me their beds and rooms werent cleaned? are you telling me they werent feed? are you telling me that they dont have the option to play games and socialize in the activity rooms? are you telling me no one laughed or had conversations with the residents? are you telling me therpy wasnt helping anyone streghten their arms or legs? there are residents there that cant move, talk, and are on feeding tubes, no family that comes to see them, basically the only family they have is the absolut. dont f*cking tell me NO ONE cared. when they are short, cnas run around like crazy trying their best to get everyone ready they made get it done late but they make sure thier job is done. and last but not the lease - if you think you can do a better job why dont you instead of just taking care of your own family, take care of someone elses family too? you get to watch your children get on the bus, we get your grandma or grandpa up and make sure they eat at break fast. you get to have a dinner with your children and husband and tuck your children in at night, we make sure your grandpa or grandma eats their dinner, gets washed up and tucked into bed. you get to go to sleep with your husband and wake up with him, we make sure residents get toileted in the night so they arent sleeping in their urine and get them up in the morning. theres 20 residents on a unit. can you handle that? im advicing you to shut your "i know absolutely nothing" mouth.

Really! Everytime I would come there my Mother was drenched in urine and stuck in a corner. A doctor in Erie told me that my mother was very neglected and very porly taken care of. But I already knew that. She developed MERCA because of the lousy care she received there. So dont tell me I am wrong.

oh really? did you notify anyone? i doubt that everytime you came to visit her she was soaked in urine. and if a doctor in erie supposively said ur mother was so neglected then why didnt the doctor report it?and its impossible for anyone to sit in a corner, theres something n every corner. a bed. a dresser a night stand a chair etc. when you get older your skin gets thinner. easily to get a cut and or get an infection. easier to get sick because of their weak immune system. if everytime you went to visit your mother she was soaked it her urine why didnt you take her home for you to care for her since you think you know so much? oh thats right, you didnt. i think your just upset becuase you expected your mother to live forever, we all wish they could. but its life people die unexpectedly everyday. theres nothing anyone can do... if i remember correctly, your the same person who wrote on a different topic, after taking your mother from the absolut, you took her to a different facility, correct? and she later died at that facility not at the absolut, correct? im sure you blame that facility for your mothers death too.. but like i said you didnt want the hassel so u sent her to a facility and blame other people..

Well for your information I was taking care of her until she had surgery and had to come there after because she needed a little more help that I could not give her. When she got better she was to come back with me. But thanks to that place that never happened! So do not say that I chose not to take care of her. I did get her out of there as fast as I could. No I will not blame them because they were 100% better at taken care of her but it was a little to late.I know what happened and God knows what happened. You will have to answer to him in the end,not me. Have a nice day =)

Broctonmom..although I dont know your personal story about your mom, let me just say this..It's really easy to find others to blame when one of our parents start to fail...I have worked for Absoluts for many, many years, and in my experience, most residents come back to us from a hospital visit with MRSA...That being said, we take every precaution to make sure that resident is taken care of and keep it from spreading to other residents...You even said that she had come to us because of surgery..So I rest my case on that one...I really doubt any doctor ever told you that she received lousey care because if he were any kind of doctor he woulda reported this to the Dept of Health...For you to say that no one in this place cares, that is so untrue!!! I have seen first hand the care that is taken for each and every resident...Recently, as one of our residents was dying and no family members showed to be with her, I saw nurses and aides take turns AFTER they were off the clock, just to sit with her and make sure her final days were not alone...There is a resident, who every day was mean to me to the point, I dreaded entering her room..But one day, as I walked by, I saw her sitting my herself and was sobbing her eyes out..It broke my heart so I went in to see what was wrong..She was just lonely, she missed her kids who hardly ever came to see her...After that, I made a point of every day to stop in to sit and talk with her and she became one of my favorite residents...I have seen every department push residents to the dining room, answer call bells, feed residents..ect..Its not the staff that is at fault..Its the higher up..The ones who say that aides and laundry/housekeeping and dietary employees are a dime a dozen..And they have no qualms about letting caring employees go and hire in these others for their dime..I have seen so many great aides and nurses, dedicated laundry and housekeepers..hardworking dietary employees leave because management finds them so disposable at the expense of the residents...I am one of those employees who finally had enuff..So Broctonmom, complain where you can, but for you to find fault in those who cared for your mom, This is just wrong!!!

bottom line is they pay less than a lot of places, they are always short staffed. they dont even do the reports by computer, they are written by hand. big time eater that takes away from the care
