So Patrick is admitting that the Democrat way of "doing business" doesn't work and he is using something invented by a Republican administration to bring companies and jobs to the region. How's that you Dems!

Has this method/process worked well in other areas? |

Finally-- listen to and for the Republicans-- stay away from all the Clintons who want to spend our money carelessly and foolishly.

OK, I got it. Republicans - good. Democrats - bad. I agree.
But has this Republican method/process actually proven successful anywhere? I really do not know. I hope that it has... |

The Berkshire Eagle headline should read:
"One-term Governor tosses crumbs to Berkshire hicks". ---------- "The designation levies a variety of state and federal development programs, including a streamlined 180-day permitting process that will benefit the Pittsfield Economic Development Authority, which manages the Stanley Business Park." Gee, Wow, now if only businesses could be found to apply for those so-called "streamlined" 180-day permits. (Just for point of reference it took just 465-days to construct the Empire State Building in NYC (from the day excavation was begun on Jan. 22, 1930 until May 1, 1931 the day of the official ribbon-cutting ceremony opening the building.) "Patrick gives Pittsfield the means to grow"
Yeah, right, a machine 'tax and spend' Liberal Democrat "Gives" a city "The Means to Grow". If Dems want Massachusetts cities to grow, then zero out corporate and personal income taxes along with the state sales tax. Businesses will flock here in weeks from around the country. |
|
I think it is wonderful that the Eagle has provided this forum for folks like Glenn Heller who have no apparent purpose in life.

So if there are no corporate or personal income taxes and no sales tax, along with prop 2 1/2, where does the money come from? New growth? You'd have to raze every forest in the Berkshires to get the needed revenue to do garbage pick up, let alone police, schools, fire, etc... We'd look like those God-awful Florida/Arizona sprawl development (fastest growing) communities. Who would want that? |
|
Yes, I would want that. Or, at leat, I would take that chance if we could elminate state taxes. By the way, how much of that "sprawl development" do you see in New Hampshire? You don't. That happens in Florida and Arizona because people flock there to good weather. News flash: We (and New Hampshire) have bad weather. |

A very highly placed, reputable source, has outed you as a paid lobbyist for a group commonly reffered to by the acronym RWI,or Right Wing Idiots! I defended the group and told him that they would only hire Lobbyists with working brains and would have nothing whatsoever to do with a mindless one line has been of your ilk! By the way,do you have permission to use the picture,or are you stealing that too? |

Some one tries to do somthing positve and the and the naysayers come running out of the "closet". if anyone wanted to come here all they have to do listen to all the whiners and naysayers and start runing. Thankfully the Governor has some faith in our area and our leaders.
