It comes from your arrogance of I can have whatever I want, when I want it, how I want it.
It stems from the values we as a society place on family and on each other.
You have created what is without ever giving thought to how you planted the seed and how it bloomed from the ground up.
You made most criminals. You've embellished in your own pleasures of things you don't need and have an over abundance of. You've stuffed your faces full of fast food and overindulged while so many families now struggle just to buy food for their families.
Prices of food has doubled in last few years. History is repeating itself. Revolutions.
Need more of a picture drawn out for you?
I thought so.
The homeless guy standing on the corner - you walked right past him no eye contact, and praying and hoping he doesn't speak to you --- Don't you?
He's cold, hungry, lost, and at his wits end.
The shelter is full, he has no friends, hasn't spoken to his family in years, doesn't know where they live.
He stands on a corner and begs for change or food.
Enough food just to get by for the day.
Maybe just a water or a warm beverage.
You made him. You keep him on the corner.
Yet you deny it. How can you deny something you don't even acknowledge? You do. Ironic isn't it?
At some point he made a bad decision or two.
Or maybe none at all.
Yet YOU expect others to forgive you for your errors and bad decisions. Yes?
When the table is turned and one of you is the man standing on the corner and you want my change.
I'm going to walk past you, hope and pray you don't speak to me, and never make eye contact with you.
I'll not throw change in your hat or offer you food. I'll keep on walking by pretending you're not there.
You know why I'll keep walking, because you're the one that will comment here that the guy did this to himself.
So if you become that guy on the corner and dare to speak to me, I'm going to say, You did this to yourself buddy. I don't acknowledge you.
A year goes by you see his picture on the news. You recognize him. He's the manager that used to work at the pantry down the street. That store went out of business when they put a WalMart in.
News story states the homeless man froze to death as he slept under a bridge.
You did this to him. You wanted what YOU wanted, when you wanted it.
Deny it, that's what youre good at because when you deny it, you don't have to see it as a reality that you did this to him.

That was well thought out. I admit I don't give to everyone that stands on the corner. But I have and will continue to do so. But as far as those in the middle of the roads, forget it.
