It is true that not all pit bulls are bad, excitable yes, but ANY dog can be trained to attack people either on purpose or inadvertantly.

It's interesting if one is interested in biblical social law- it states that if an animal attacks and kills a person, and the owner is not aware of any previous misbehavior, the animal should die and the owner should not be held accountable.

However, if the animal is in the habit of attacking people and the owner knows it, both the animal and the owner should die because the owner did nothing to stop it.

Guess we wouldn't go as far as God to protect, eh?

to say we should kill all pit bulls because many of them have been known to attack would be like saying that we should kill or lock up one race of people because they are the majority of what fills the prisons and have been known to do bad things.

i think destroying and hunting down all pit bulls in particular is ridiculous.
Other breeds can be trained to kill
pit bulls can be sociable and safe.
I think the owner should be severely punished for owning a dangerous dog and not the dog itself
dogs have no morals or conscience and arent "evil" so the human should be punished and the dog should be rehabilitated into a safe dog again unless its beyond the "point of no return"

why would my new neighbor want to install a security fence and get a "guard dog" in a sedate, quiet residential neighborhood? He plans to acquite an American Staffordshire Terrier to "guard" his property? After reading the stats on the AmStaff, I would be loathe not to mention that in 34 years of living in my home, there has never been an incident of any sort on our street?
I have an 11 year old Newfoundland and an 8 yr.old Golden Retriever. I am terrified that this "guard dog" will jump my fence and do harm to one or both of my "senior citizens"; not to mention that said neighbor wants to "hook up" to my fence and not have a gap between fencing.

Would love to invite you & your dogs to spend the day with my german shepards & pitbulls to play. Will guarntee they will play like puppies. The pitbull will always get a bad rap for their powerful jaws & the fact there will always be a idiot who thinks they are a bad ass & are iresponible with their animal. A shepard can be a bad dog so can a rotty etc. A pitbull does not have the instint to 'attack' other animals or people for that matter. My sheppards & pits are wonderful gentle playmates in a fenced enviroment

These dogs are dangers to society and should be outlawed. At the very least catch them loose or a report of biting, put them to death. Neighbors should leave out bowls of antifreeze to protect themselves from these deadly animals.

I have raised and trained Pitts for over twenty years and have yet to have one even bite someone. Just like any dog, you have to show it you are pack leader. If a dog thinks it is pack leader is when all of the problems start. You put two pitts together at a young age and they do form a bond. When they are young and not neutered, they are very aggressive. If you don't know how to train a dog properly, you shouldn't own it. I have had dogs of all breads, but Pitt is by far is my favorite. They are great with small children and very loving dogs if raised from a pup.

It's not a coincidence 90% of dog maulings are pit bulls. And no they don't have to be trained to attack. It's in their genetics .. I love dogs but look at the facts people! Pit Bulls are dangerous dogs and if someone's pit bull hurts someone, the owner should be prosecuted as if they committed the crime.. Like I said it's not a coincidence 90% of dog attacks are by pit bulls.. The facts don't lie

i think a lot of people think that they know what a pittie looks like. however, could they be confusing a pittie with a rottie? i have been around these breeds and never had one get smart a**y with me.

Those stats are total hog wash and you know it. Facts don't lie but that is not a fact. Dobermans and little dogs bite more people then pitts. All dogs can since your fear of them and a Pitt is no different.
I had a guy a ways back that had a young Pitt, he would stand on the other side of fence and use my dogs to train his how to face off until my huge black Pitt punched in in his nose. He called the Popo and they cited him. My Pitt is trained properly to protect and not to leave my yard. People open my gate and leave it open but my dogs know better.

Ask BMI how often does he take his Pits to the vet, I bet never. Many black people don't care for dogs or even cats.I often heard black people make the racist comment of white people's hair, They would be in their inner circle of racist blacks laughing and saying, White peoples hair smells like wet dogs. Let's see underneath all that chicken grease I could say black people smell like chicken always and ribs. They put enough grease in their tummies and on their hair to straighten it out.Not to mention the ones who buy the geri curl spray that is like spraying liquid vaseline on their hair and it gets on everything .Back to the dogs that black people raise to be mean and never care for, Once they use them up in dog fighting or protecting their drugs, They then just turn them lose on the streets.I say who let the thugs out "woof woof".
