I'm not retracting anything. The city was OFFICIALLY founded in 1853 but that shit didn't just pop up over night. The town began being settled in the early 1800's and industry and commerce was originally driven by access to the Wabash and the emergence of national roads, not the railroad as you claimed, that came later. So once again, five minutes of pulling your head out of yourass and actually researching it will do wonders for you.
very true. Shit didn't pop up over night. The town grew around the railroad. The railroad has made this town what it is today and continues to aid in its growth. When railroads leave so do jobs. Look at the new truss plant going in up north or the block plant. All built here because of access to the rails. Jobs=growth.

tredegar, bemis, ampacet I could go on and on with places that wouldn't be here nor couldn't make it without the railroad. Start closing a few of them and see how this town. You seem like a real bright guy... Maybe you could get Terre Haute some more jobs by talking to different plants and telling them about the steam boats that can move there products up and down the Wabash lol. Your a real dip shit

Yet the towns grew before the railroad was here, your claim that the railroads made this town are false, period. You've been proven wrong yet you still insist that your are right, you're a joke.
