Big cuts are comming to all government workers (Federal, State and Local) wages, benefits and retirement checks in the next 15 months.

SB5 has nothing to do with these facts.

It has already been put in place by the taxpaying voters in the last 2 elections and by world government bodies.

Greece is just the starting point.

Reading the budget ( http://www.lsc.state.oh.us/fiscal/comparedoc1 ...)

I found it interesting that the politicians state right there that the change to merit pay scales will result in an INCREASE of costs in the fiscal effect described after each section of the proposal.

To quote EDUCD129 Teacher and Principal Evaluations section of the Department of Education portion of the Main Operating Department of Education Appropriations Bill "Fiscal effect: Potential increase in administrative costs for the state Superintendent to develop an evaluation framework. Potential increase in costs for public schools to adopt and implement evaluation policies." Read it yourself.

It is clearly stated that this will cost the taxpayers more...however it may create more jobs as more administration will be needed to implement...that's all we need - more administration.

He'll do what he has to since the Koch brothers funded his campaign to further their agenda. They want unions busted up and will stop at nothing to make sure it happens in Ohio too.

So lets get this straight. This guy thinks that cutting teachers, firefighters, police, prisons, and healthcare is great while giving big tax money to the millionairs who already hire big money attournys to side step paying Ohio anyway. He is proud of it! The average middle class tax payer (you and me) will save $70 a year....THATS $70 for the whole year. Yeah, all the while trying to cut everything that you and me appreciate and want.

Its about giving money to rich friends and calling it "creating jobs" and cutting from needed programs and calling it "cutting spending"

Wake up Ohio!

<<<Linda Woggon, executive vice president for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, said the budget "is not your typical tax-and-spend budget.">>>

Correct. It's your basic spend more than the last budget, kick back to your political contributors, and pass the buck to local governments to do the heavy lifting budget.

But hey, "We didn't raise taxes on you, did we?" (chortle, snuffle, guffaw..)

Funny. Everyone complains that the politicians do nothing, then when one of them rocks the boat a little the name calling begins.

Our Governments both at the Federal, State, and Local levels have become larger than what the private sector is able to support. That's pretty much what it boils down to. Some States will start the process of addressing that and will suffer less pain in the future than those States who do nothing (California) and find themselves in bankruptcy. It's coming sooner rather than later.

New Day Budget.. more like "Last Days Budget" for Ohio. May God Help Ohio and Governor Kasich. Maybe they should review this in his bible study...

Deut. 15:7. If there is a poor man among you, one of your brothers, in any of the towns of the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand to your poor brother; but you shall freely open your hand to him, and generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.

Right on Kasich, finally someone willing to stand up to bureaucracy and union thugs.

God forbid Ohio should have to live within it means without taxing other people to pay for bloated programs.

Soup Kitchen, tomorrow, 6:00 a.m. Three homeless men and two women will be returning home with you for an unspecified length of time. Give them whatever they need. Next week, new crew.
