Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said in May that he’d written off votes from 47 percent of Americans who are collecting government aid. Turns out many of them are part of his political base. Seventy percent of counties with the fastest-growth in food-stamp aid during the last four years voted for the Republican presidential candidate in 2008, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data compiled by Bloomberg. They include Republican strongholds like King County, Texas, which in 2008 backed Republican John McCain by 92.6 percent, his largest share in the nation; and fast-growing Douglas County, Colorado.

You Republicans are the very people you despise! The "Red states " get more federal welfare dollars than any blue state, yet they vote Republican 90% of the time! You're a bunch of ignorant leeches!

As the data indicates, heavy Republican leaning States, towns, villages get the majority of government aid such as SNAP and medicaid, and no matter how you attempt to explain it away, the facts are there coming from the Agriculture department!!! I wish the aid was cut by 65% to those areas just to show them how Republicans would let their children starve to save a debt that will never be paid in full.

The largest area of government aid in Ohio is the City of Cleveland.

The City of Cleveland votes Democrat.

Romney evidently cannot stop himself from sneering at society’s struggling people and the politicians who seek to improve their lives. It is not as if the donors he was addressing don’t want “gifts” from government – such as the big new tax breaks that Romney had promised them, the huge increases in defense spending that would swell their profits, or the various individual corporate favors that they regard as their very own “entitlements.” Just don’t expect that kind of honest introspection from Romney or his crowd.

Rasmussen: 57% Favor Raising Taxes on Rich
There’s an enormous partisan difference of opinion when it comes to raise taxes on those who make more than $250,000 annually, but a majority of Americans favor the hikes proposed by Democrats.
An overwhelming number of voters, however, also realize that raising taxes will not on its own solve the budget crisis Congress is grappling with.
The latest Rasmussen Reports survey found that 57 percent of likely voters favor raising taxes on people who earn more than $250,000 a year and 35 percent are opposed.

The 10% annual increases in the military budget of the People's Republic of China does not scare you?

A lot of black folks in the southern states, too. Funny how you people never mention that when you run down their rankings in education, health care outcomes and number of Starbucks on every block.

The medicaid recipients are mostly black. Who did not go red.

And if the south really is full of the white trash voting "against their interests" then too f*cking bad for them, I'll use nearly any method to stop the quest of the progressives to turn this nation into a European social democracy.
