Welcome to the private sector. When you are a teacher, judge, healthcare provider, law enforcement officer, etc. You are held to a higher standard of behavior. So it's perfectly correct to fire someone for such behavior. If this lady was in a teacher's union I bet she would keep her job.
When you are employed by the public (as I am, also as a teacher) you are absolutely held to a higher standard. It is also an unspoken job description that we are to be role models inside and outside of the classroom. If she cannot control herself in a high stress situation when alcohol is involved then she should avoid those situations. I go out and enjoy drinks, but I am responsible about it and make sure I would not do anything I wouldn't want my students to do at my age. It's a shame that unions do have to help people like her (in the case she would have been a union member) when in reality they are not in place to save low life trash like her!

To LovingMomandWife You have to hand it to this woman for being creative. This is the first time I have ever heard of this kind of defensive action. I know myb dad used to joke that Dolly Parton was the only woman he ever knew who could use her breast for weapons. I just wish now he had lived long enough to have seen this.

After all she is drunk which means when she feeds the baby it is "drinking" too. She should never be allowed to teach again.
Not that I am condoning this woman's behavior but I breastfed my children and if my friends and I wanted to go out I would pump and fill bottles beforehand. I don't know if this woman did this, I am just saying that we shouldn't assume that a breastfeeding woman that is drinking is going to go home and then breastfeed her baby.

Haha yes! Very creative!!! I'm sure your dad is getting a good laugh at this from the other side!

A little off topic, but on the subject of your dad, I love when little things like this remind me of loved ones gone and give me a little chuckle! Glad you were able to bring a positive memory out of this for yourself!

I actually feel sorry for her. For some reason I'm thinking that this wedding had an open bar. This usually leads to someone who can't handle their alcohol drinking to the point of being out of control and/or in a black-out. I'm thinking if she hadn't been tanked on alcohol, she probably would never have done this behavior. News media sensationalizes everything and they really play a big part of this story.

You're all SO hilarious and so obviously perfect. None of you have ever made a mistake that you have regret for. GOOD people make BAD decisions ALL THE TIME. What NONE of you losers know is what she is really like. I am parent of a student that has had her as a teacher for the last 2 years. The progress my child made with her as a teacher is phenominal. She isn't a bad influence on kids, she's an amazing teacher who made a terrible mistake and is paying dearly for it. I just hope you never do something that gets blown out of proportion because of the drooling hungry media wanting to turn you into a monster. You should be ashamed of yourselves as you sit behind the safety of your computer and make your lude and incorrect judgements.

I feel sorry for this woman.
I work in a hospital and see drunk people make total fools out of theirselves all the time. While her behavior was totally out of line, I have seen much worse out there.
Not to mention, being fired? Come on, people make mistakes and I believe its punishment enough that her name and picture is on the news. This is going to be a hard one to live down. We all have screwed up and we are so quick to judge someone.
Lets have alittle compassion for someone, I know tons of people that have been absolutely horrible one time or the other when they are drunk, even arrested and they get out when they sober up. Its not right to single her out.

Talk about idiots, obviously you are a man. Who are you to judge anyone? Ever made a mistake in your life? At least its not plastered on tv for everyone to see and talk about.

Lets quote some scripture here.
LUKE 6:37
"Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.

This is the one applies to this woman who said that she should never teach again;
Matthew 7:5
You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brothers eye.
These are words we should live by.
