ANOTHER story that the befuddled Dispatch reporters stole from Business First... Too stupid and lazy to get it before somebody else hands it to you.

Interesting that they're planning office, residential, and dining for the space. Nothing against any of those things, but the market for dining has become fairly saturated down there, and a lot of other SN projects involve residential these days. I'm wondering whether they'll all gain occupants/clients.

Don't you know that hordes of people are scrambling for the privilege of living in the Short North/downtown areas? Just ask any urban hipster.

"Upscale" 1 bedroom 700 sqft. apartment going for $1,500 a month. 2 bedroom 900 sqft. going for $2,000 a month. I don't think that is affordable downtown living for 98% of Columbus.

i can't imagine how much the parking garage space is going to cost them... seems as if it their only option now. should have worked that into the initial purchase price!!

Actually, The Dispatch started this story by reporting on the impending closure of the Yankee Trader in June, interviewing the owners of the business and the firm that was assisting Yankee Trader in its sale for over two years. And The Dispatch originally reported on this latest sale yesterday, not today.

What happened to Yankee Trader? Did the move or go out of business?

Yankee Trader should become Trader Joes. There are enough apartments down there. Downtown C-Bus is a ghosttown after 7:00. Does the city have enough call center jobs and male prostitutes to support all the overpriced housing in SN? "If you build it they will come"? Who? Where? For how long?
