Walmart accounts for something like $100 billion in savings worldwide every year. That's a retroactive $100 billion wage increase for everyone. Bring it on.

This article states that Walmart spent " $185 trillion on merchandise and services from 5,797 suppliers in Ohio." $185 TRILLION??? Shouldn't all of us Ohioans be filthy rich by now if Walmart is throwing that kind of money all over Ohio?

Perhaps in the next installment they will mention the fact that 99% of the merchandise is imported from sweatshops. People had the choice to vote with their dollars. Most people voted for sweatshops (and still do).

Why don't the papers do an objective piece and start with statistics on increased calls for service from police to their local Walmarts for everything from shoplifters to robbers? If Walmart is going to expand into communities, part of the deal should be that they agree to pay for 3-4 officers salaries, equipment and cruisers because that is generally about how many are going to be tied up at these fine establishments.

Wal-mart has provided jobs for many. It is the only company that someone can start as a stock boy/girl and work their way to upper management. They contiune to recognize hard work with out union bullying. Why would you think that "smaller stores or even the larger grocery stores" have lost business (if that is true)? Could it be because that the evil corporation provides a good product at an affordable price. Just how has the evil corportation of wal-mart"ruined" life for many people and especially for you.
To put it politely you sound like a Walmart management sycophant! It is the reverse since they are so anti-union they can bully anyone there. Walmart is the biggest POS corporation on Earth. They and the Walton family that own this montrosity thsat attracts the ignorant can rot in Hell!

When a Walmart moves in-a lot of mom and pop stores go out of business, even big name stores. Then when the Walmart closes down, the people are left with nothing. If you want to support China and alot of other countries...go ahead and shop at Walmart.Did you know that China made 300 billion dollars from us in 2010?they are rebuiling their roads and bridges and country-while ours is falling apart.Look on the internet and you will see alot of women called WAHM (work at home moms)making things to try to make some money-theres nothing wrong with that.It just seems like our Country is turning into a third world Country.Let's stop supporting these other countries-and focus on what we can do for our Country.

Walmart on black friday reminds me of a national Geographic documentary that I saw some times ago where a herd of wilderbeasts were trampling each other over to get across a river while an alligator picked one off for his "lunch".
