We said it years ago that you would not be able to pass an exit ramp in Central Ohio without seeing a Walmart. One more goes up and more will come . Not good for anyone but Bentonville Arkansa.

Sad. Yes, Westerville Square is an eyesore, but a chinamart? They do not play well with others. City Counsel, you may have fixed Westerville Square, but at what cost? How many shops and stores will be run out of town?

The Westerville City Council last night showed that it is as lock-step in its thinking as the people who make such wonderful decisions in the wind tunnel located at Broad and High. After hours of discussion, the only person who showed any depth in looking at the totality of the issues involved for the city was Greg Treneff. He is the intellectual heavyweight on the City Council, and we residents owe him thanks for his cogent analysis and his vote in opposition to a plan that is violative of previous planning studies done by the same City Council. Treneff's analysis demonstrated that property rights held by owners do not trump all other considerations, including previous city planning studies. Shame on City Council.

And By The Time K-Sick Gets Done With Even You;
Westerville; You Are Gonna Need That Wal-Mart.....

Westerville see's itself as a "gated community" and "above the rest".
K-Sick see's himself as belonging and being entitled to a "special class" AKA "The Gated Community Class"
They Have A History....

K-Sick lives in a fantasy mental state of Gated Community
Think about his attitude,
Think about his actions
It All Speaks To His Self Image and His Fantasy.
K-Sick Has a History

The Only Gated Community K-Sick and His Fantasy Following Belong In Is Located Just West Of Central Ave On West Broad Street

So why don't you run big lots, marcs and meijer out of town? They sell made in china crap too.

I will continue to shop at the local stores as I do now. I will also shop at walmart as I do now. Just means that I won't have to drive as far.

A few bucks in the right hands can get anything done in Westerville. Uptown will be a shopping ghost town filled with goofy looking people staring at people who drive through while eating ice cream. With the contemplated levy to support overpaid teachers Walmart and the thrift store is about all the citizenry will be able to afford.

Here comes the riff-raff. I hope you like Somalians with women in burkas.
Westerville already has women in burkas. Drive past any of the middle or high schools at the beginning or end of school. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is another matter, but that particular fight was lost when the school board went baa-baa-baa and approved the so-called "win-win" agreement for another term.

That aside, Wal-Mart will be good for the city in general. The outside "riff-raff," if you will, will continue to shop on Morse Road. Westerville Square will see a 100% improvement, and the elder community in the area will have an inexpensive place to shop. There will be positives here all the way around. Except, of course, for the unions.

Westerville is now offiically a 'white trash' town, as only white-trash morons shop at Wal-Mart. Low prices-always. What a joke. Wal-Mart is the king of bait and switch, making vast profits while ripping off their suppliers as well as their customers. The same morons who shop at Wal-Mart are the same morons who watch NASCAR, a sport dedicated to the waste of oil we don't produce and which is sucking the lifeblood out of our society and making rich those who hate our guts. Congratulations Westerville. You're now officially a 'white trash' town.
Where do you live? Victorian Village and shop on the Short North?

I did not realize that having a walmart qualifies a town as a white trash town. I guess according to your holier-than-thou attitude Dublin falls in that category too.

Completely obvious that racism and the elitist attitude is running rampant in Westerville. Looks like the KKK is out in full force this morning.

They should have allowed Walmart two miles up the street by Polaris and Main. You knew they would definitely come back and try again. Public officials just do not get it. You cannot fight a company like that.

Uptown Westerville may be the best small downtown area in metro Columbus ... but not for long. I was considering purchasing a home in the Uptown area in the coming months, but after reading this article, no way. Very sad. It's hard to believe that Americans place so much emphasis on the amount of "stuff" they can buy and so little emphasis on the quality of their public spaces. Walmarts represent the absolute *worst* of what suburbia has to offer.

This will be so nice for the seniors living in the area. They won't have to cross State Street or Shrock Road to shop. Uptown will be fine. They don't have any major grocery stores there and the patrons will still come for what they want in that area.

I get sick and tired of the upper crust in places like Westerswill hating on us regular Walmart shoppers. Walmart has lots of stuff at cheap prices and they'll bring jobs to the area. Sure, some of those workers will be coming in from OUTSIDE Westerswill, but the Westerswill folks will just have to put up with them.

Bottom line: Westerville Square gets fixed up. People will come to Westerville to spend money at the chinamart. Hopefully some of the other businesses will benefit from the increased traffic. It will be up to the residents to support the shops and homegrown stores, just like we do now.

I understand some Westerville residents dislike for Wal-Mart. These are the same people who lean left on the political spectrum. The Don Quixote's of the world who chase after perceived evils of the world.

The DQs' as I like to call them think that humans cause global warming, believe in rights of trees and animals over the rights of humans, believe that President Obama's really stood for hope and change and that Communism is a better alternative to Capitalism.

Westerville should be happy that Wal-Mart deems you worthy of placing one of their stores in your city. The only thing better than a 100,000 square foot Wal-Mart store is a 200,000 square foot Wal-Mart store.
