There are worse places and better places. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give Columbus a 5.

It's better run than Cleveland and Akron.

But it is still ridden with socialists and oikophobes.

If you can't rein in the underclass, you will become Detroit.

There is nothing here. There is no venue or attraction.
I mean really how much of the buckeyes can one take.

You have the NHL

Of course it sucks, but that's something we don't have

You also have a unemployment rate a full point lower than Cuyahoga.

Do you hunt/fish/tip cows?

I'm a huge fan, but even I admit we have what is no doubt the most embarrassing NHL franchise in the history of the league. Were it not for the economic importance of the Arena District, the city and county never would have stepped to buy the arena and the team would have been moved to Hamilton years ago. As for now, they're guaranteed to be here through 2039.

I remember a city in Michigan that spent piles of taxpayer cash on cronyism deals like that...

Mayor's name was Coleman...the mayor in Columbus' name is Coleman...

History...repeating itself...

I'm OK with it here because it's casino money paying for it. That's "found money," not taxpayer funding.

Do the ATM's in the casinos take EBT cards?(Are EBT cards good for purchases and cash?) If so, it's taxpayer funded.

There has got to be a SKIM in there somewhere.

No doubt. With the all Demonrat city/county government we'll never know since the local media never investigate them.

No idea. I haven't been to the Columbus casino. But frankly, I'd rather see EBT money go to the Blue Jackets than some Muslim-run corner store.

Official stance on the matter: NO.

Can only use the EBT cards at point-of-purchase for grocers who have signed up. Reality is, who knows? I don't think they can be used as ATM cards.

I dunno, gimmie rat don't play hockey. When it be cold the only sport gimmie rats go for is shooting each other over sneakers or spilled beverage or a glance or a 40ounce or a Black & Mild or an oinge drink.

I really feel Columbus lost it's identity long ago. It is now just another Corporate Town.

Cleveland would be happy to have "Corporate"

Of course what will fix the cities of Ohio, is letting those who commute but pay municipal income tax, vote.

All the big cities would have Republican mayors.

The plus side to that is jobs, but I know what you mean. Cities with a lot of character aren't immediately identified by their companies. New Orleans comes to mind. So do Boston and Chicago.

Are you kidding? Compared to it's peers (i.e. other American metro areas), it's about an 8.
