Our governor and state legislature may not care about jobs, but council does! It's time to move forward and redevelop that site! Who else is going to do it? What other alternative offers were there? None. It's time for Wal Mart to create jobs sorely needed by some in Westerville, and offer value to the rest!

Traffic alone should have been reason enough to stop this development project from happening. Seriously, where are all of these additional cars going to go?! These streets can not be widened.

And somehow I doubt the jobs will go to Westerville residents that are the age for their first job or retirees etc, I bet they will just redistribute their employees that didn't do well at the major stores to that one. Council was stupid in this case. For a alternative I would have had made it nice for other stores to move in, tear it down and rebuild for other stores, maybe more restaurants, wonder how the MCL cafeteria thinks about this.

Walmart creates a net loss of jobs in a town when they arrive. Plus local jobs go down the drain and are replaced with 8 dollar wally world jobs and all the profits leave the town. Sad day for the Ville.

Well there goes the neighborhood...... Westerville does NOT need a walmart, there are two already within 10 minutes drive time of nearly any part of the Ville. This is just not what the Ville is all about. I miss the old Ville.

It seems like the hos on the city council god paid off by their ChinaMart pimps to put this parasitic commercial obcenity in this town. Walmart is the WORST they treat their customers, vendors, and employees like crap. Destroy small local businesses that have been in a town for years and bring in people that look like the cast of "deliverance" into the neighborhood. These phonies always have "salute the troops"promotions while their main suppliers (China) were the same people many Americans died fighting in Korea and the suppliers of weapons to the Viet Congs and North Vietnamese. To put it bluntly screw Walmart! I hope most people in Westerville boycott the bastards!

It's the beginning of the end for Westerville.
No, wait. WIN-WIN was the beginning. Walmart is bringing up the rear. Time to leave.

It would be better to develop this site as a toxic waste dump or a nuclear waste site than bring this POS company in.

I really dont want this s**thole right down the street. they could have put up a Target and I would have been happy. This will bring a trashy element, crime, lower property values, and more traffic at all hours. They could have filled the space with a 24 hour lions den super store and I would have felt better about it. THIS SUX.

"Some council members said their primary concern is making sure the store doesn't expand; Hadler tonight agreed to create a deed restriction that would forbid Walmart from expanding."

==========

LMAO!

Like Hadler can't remove the deed restriction if Walmart later decides to expand?

Really? They pay minimum wage, if you want a job, there's a McDonald's on State St. that literally a five-minute walk away. The only real difference is you'd have to wear a paper hat. But the pay is exactly the same.
