NEVER will happen! Wegmans is a totally upscale state-of-the-art modern supermarket that would never come into this area. They have even left 2 Syracuse neighborhoods because of the welfare trash that was starting to gather there on the first of the month. They only go to areas where you don't have alot of public assistance customers...besides, Chopper is in at least 3 states with about 100-200 stores. Your talking at least a $200M buyout by Wegmans. They only have about 10 stores mainly in Syr.

You don't know what you are talking about, you welly.

Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. is a family-owned U.S. regional supermarket chain headquartered in Gates, New York, near Rochester.[5][6] Wegmans has 81 stores[1] in the mid-Atlantic region, in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts. Founded in 1916 in Rochester, Wegmans has appeared on Fortune's annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list since its inception in 1998, and has ranked among the top 10 for eight consecutive years

Ah hearsay and insults, the foundations of a "know nothing topix expert", along with the $200 Million dollar figures you pull of the air...ya you really know business pal. Maybe do a little research on profit margins, sales, demographics, and how takeovers work before you decide to post and show more of your ignorance.

Yeah Wegmans isn't coming here. They are known for their awesome organic products, topnof the line meats, in store "restaurant" with amazing buffets. Their produce section is huge and you can find anything there. Now does that sound like something these alcoholic, dope fiend, junkie, crackheads in Rome would be interested in? I think not!

it doesn't say taking over Walmart or Aldi's. It says price chopper, where most of the people who actually work, do their shopping. and getting GMO and High fructose foods out of the mouths of the ignorant is a great step in leaving the past idiocy behind and progressing forward...but you just keep throwing up those walls to free thinking. it's really going to pay off one day. for us. when you are gone.

Wegmans is also in PA, NJ and have much more than 10. I agree that Rome will not have a chance for wegmans. If you notice the discount stores are bright and the upscale stores have subdued lighting.

I love how idiots like this saltynuts jerk get all you Romans excited with their made up crap. I hardly ever see any input that shows that the person making it has a lick of sense. Judging from what I see, most of the comments about wellies, blacks, women, and any any other off topic items, come directly from the type of individual that wants you to believe that they are anything but. Rome would not be half bad if just the malcontents that post here would go to Afghanistan and live. Be thankful for what you have and enjoy this Independence Day.
