Could you please explain to me why this has to be offered up for bid? I don't know if it was or wasn't but I am having a hard time figuring out why you think it should have been. Do you feel slighted? Do you own a coffee shop and feel you should have been offered a shot? Please, enlighten us.

Are you dumb or corrupt?
Yes, there are several businesses that would have bid on the hospital.
Enlighten you?
Slippery politics at the hospital- it will bite everybody in the backside this time- guaranteed

<quoted text> Typical, majority of Rones attitude, sad isn't it? Well then 1/2 is on public assistance now so what's that tell you? I agree with you though even if we're the minority, but we are the decent citizens too.#proudworkingcitizen
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Get off your sanctimonious high horse with the the "public assistance vs. decent citizens" B.S. Who are you to judge anybody? Back on the subject, Spresso's overcharges. They get away with it because they are located on the industrial park where some of the higher paying jobs are in Rome. The average person in Rome is not going to pay those kind of prices, so hopefully the new owners will keep that in mind.

So what is the big deal?
She is doing business in Rome and is opening another location and will pay the highest taxes and power costs in the country in the worst business environment in the state!
Lori presently employs around TEN people and will be adding more jobs to cover this location so again.....what is the big deal about?
I hope this helps you understand the situation better!
So, who wrote this? Lori, Mario or the nurse??! Not too obvious!!

The point is folks, no one ever saw any kind of advertising for this. The hospital just gave it to one of their staffers. If nothing else, just plain unethical!!

I hope they have the decency to lower their exorbitant prices. Their food is okay, nothing to write home about. But to offer food at their current price schedule would be pretty bad at a hospital. People don't hang out there for fun , they're in stressful situations and to have to pay a fortune got a lousy sandwich would be pretty bad. Me, I'll stick to the cafeteria when I have to be there.

The co- owner of spressos has a big job at hospital- did this go out for a public notice??
That's the prob kids- very serious question of impropriety
Name one other "coffee shop" in Rome. That's right, there are no others. As the only local business that provides anything other than run-of-the mill, hour old drip coffee I'm glad they got it. "Impropriety" is a hilarious accusation. This isn't the government where everything goes out for bid. You've got a vendetta and don't have the sense or legal knowledge to voice a valid complaint. Go do something with your life. Have an espresso on me.

That's your right and an option. So again, who cares?

Who the heck will spend that kind of money in the hospital? The staff can't afford it- and people sure aren't going to make it their destination. It'll go belly up so don't sweat it folks- people barely ate the food that the fat old twigs threw together and that was dirt cheap

What "staff" are you talking about? You mean to tell me a nurse making 40k can't afford a $3.00 latte?

In all seriousness, isn't the hospital a private, for-profit business? Why would they put it out to bid? Wouldn't they do whatever is going to bring them the most money?

RMH is actually considered a not for profit organization. So in all seriousness, no they shouldn't. They should be fair and do what is best for everyone involved. That includes the patients, employees, and the hospital itself.[QUOTE who="profits > salary"]<quoted text>

For a moron that keeps asking "WHO CARES" you sure keep coming back to this topic, read other people's posts and keep making comments. So apparently YOU care, genious. What a idiot.

I know coffee and I know Romans. The first month they will sell coffee and a few lunches.
Business will fall off because of the prices.
End of story.
And yes, the business should have been advertised to the public.

Yes smart ass there are a lot of entrepreneurs that would have bid on that site.
But it's Rome where people are crooked and always a wink and a nod.
Well good, I hope the corrupt go belly up, they deserve it.

The twigs left RMH because the hospital is getting ready to close. They have no patients, no doctors and way too many administrators. The emergency room is a joke. They are firing people left and right and they hire bozo 's to run the place. I can't wait to see that hellhole close

Wait a minute, doesn't the owner work at the hospital? That sounds like it was prearranged. How greedy! Prices too high so it will probably not make it anyway.
When they were open on James St people liked it but got sick of the prices.
I just don't see people spending that kind of money that are visiting the sick
