Yeah right, more silly wishful thinking for you smokers!
You are persistent if nothing else, but then again you smokers are all addicts and like a crack head would do anything to get your next fix!
Sort of pathetic!

But what are all the non-smokers going to do when all the smokers quit and the government still needs the money it used to collect from smokers?

All the smokers won't quit, they are weak and easily addicted to cigarettes. They are hooked for life and a shortened life at that.

Here's the dilema these brilliant political leaders have. A few years ago you banned smoking in Casinos and bars for the health of all employees. Now that money is getting a little tight you want to ignore the health reasons just so you THINK you can make another buck. WOW!!!

OMG, the lawsuits from every non-smoking employee that started working at the casinos and bars after the smoking ban was passed is going to bankrupt the state. What the hell are these politcial leaders thinking? I personally will be educating these employees on how to file for these class action lawsuits.

There are studies--some done for the tobacco comapnies who suppressed the results and encouraged people to act as if it were otherwise--showing that the "ventilation system" approach doesn't work.

As to the underlying financial motive, it is disgusting that the government sells out the public health to avoid making other harder decisions. "smoke in a safe way"? nope.

I love it when a non- smoker attacks smokers with the making me breathe your second hand smoke BS or your forcing your lifestyle on me. Its a free country and if you don't like the smoke in bars and casinos move on, that simple. The next thing you know fat people will be forbidden from eating in public places, or dogs from doing there business outside just because a few people are bothered. New York is already trying to ban smoking in central park.
The sights and smells of the people I encounter daily bother me, but you don't see me trying to change the way they are. No, I accept them for who they are.
Oh and Smoke Free Casinos - why the high level of hate? You speak like you feel you are smarter for not smoking. Do you have any idea how many great things have been contributed to society by smokers? Albert Einstein, Winston Churchhill, Thomas Edison, Alexander Grahm Bell, were all smokers. Get off your highhorse and learn to live with your fellow mankind.
Laws, Laws, more Laws, some ordinances, and some more Laws. The American way! It makes me sick to my stomach. How about less laws and more accountability for the laws already exisiting!

It's a country with regulations and laws, and if you (meaning the owners/managers) don't like the restrictions on smoking in casinos and bars, then take up a different way of making a living. It's that simple. On the other hand, if you don't like going to bars or casinos with said restrictions, then don't. It's that simple.

why is everyone on here crying like little babies. If you forgot gambling is a vice just like smoking so what do you expect at a casino . Why do you think all the boats in il are at record lows. Because people drive to indiana to smoke and gamble. Stop being such a fag about everything, if you want to gamble and not deal with smoke than stay home and play on the internet. This coming from someone who dosnt even smoke.

Gambling isn't lethal to those around you (unless you get so deep in debt that people go after them to encourage you to pay up).

I agree with the reasoning that it should be the same as in other states, though--all should have the stricter smoke-free policies.

Less laws LESS LAWS Less Laws. Laws need to be repealled before adding anymore that are only made to generate revenue. Governments who pass laws that hurt businesses, drive said businesses to competing states. In this economy, we should be removing these barriers and let the consumer make choices for themselves. Right now our government does not think we are even capable of thinking for our selves. From some of the posts on here, I do understand why they would have that opinion.

Yeah lets lower the drinking age, lets allow drinking and driving to capitalize on more people allowed to drink, lets legalize drugs and tax them so we have more money flowing, lets allow prostitution everywhere, lets remove speeding laws and lets lower the driving age!
Yeah who needs all these stinking laws right? Less laws right?

NOW for a dose of reality...the types of laws that ban smoking are ABSOLUTELY needed since the people performing these activities seem to lack the common sense and attitude to abstain from doing these selfish acts, rather they do these things that harm, bother and invade other peoples space!
Are these laws great, HELL NO THEY ARE NOT...but they are completely necessary in order to deal with the selfish ignorant jerks who only think of themselves!

By the way, decent places are doing just fine without smoking...hmmm imagine that!

I dont smoke, but when they passed that law it was very upsetting because its just another thing the government is trying to take away from you.
You cant smoke in bars and casinos, but you can drink in these places then drive your car. I guess thats ok.
