Honestly HEB really should set the bar alittle higher when it comes to hiring their workers. All their workers are LAZY!

I agree with Guess Who because I would rather travel to Beeville, Five Points, or Alice and buy my groceries from WalMart. The service is faster and the employees are well spoken. This Mathis HEB is very unorganized and they seem to have very old bread (I hear it is left over bread that is about to expire from the Calallen HEB). You do not seem to find perishables that are very fresh. I still have not bought a loaf of bread from the Mathis HEB that has stuck to the roof of my mouth to indicate it's freshness. I am concerned as well that we have more high school students who are working and not enough adults.

HEB desperately needs to think about building a new store in Mathis. How many times have you gone in for a couple of items, get in the express line along with 20 other people? Hello HEB that isnt express nor convienent for us.
I have lived here for 8 years and I have yet to see more than 3 registers open at one time.
I haven't had any bad experiences with the employees. Just bad experiences with trying to find a checkout that was open and no one waiting in line and yes Life4mathis a fresh loaf of bread! lol

HEB might build a new store if it could make some money...their business offices are constantly losing money due to theft by employees. They even caught a few stealing thousands of dollars a month for the past few years. Add to that the customers who load up their jackets with meat and run out...it's sad VERY sad. I'm glad I moved...the town itself needs a good washing. Several other businesses tried to come to Mathis but were run out by the Chamber of Commerce. They were afraid they would put all those businesses (you know the ones on San Patricio that are falling apart) out of business. Give a business a reason to grow and maybe they will. The new feeder road would be a decent place to put a new HEB...mostly because it would gain the business of many out of towners along the Highway.

you sure have posted some nasty comments and perhaps you should grow up a little. There are other ways to bash the people you dont like besides spreading nasty comments on blog sites.
Maybe you should take another spelling class after reading some of your posts.

lol laughing at mathis01 again!
Trust me I have a life. It's one filled with alot of happiness and to make sure my son doesnt hate on people like you do!
It's a shame to see such a young adult full of hatred. Hopefully one day you will see that what you put out in the world is what you get back.
I truly doubt my kid will get his ass beat in high school lmao
Once again, learn how to spell!! That might help get your point across better.
Stop blaming all your problems and hatred on others.
Thanks for another good laugh mathis01

I agree. Mathis HEB does need alot of improvement but that does not mean it's the people who are the problem. It's the business it's self. mathis is growing bigger and bigger by the year. It's all about supply and demand. This HEB cannot accomidate so many people especially in the holidays. There are so many of them not getting what they went for and leaving the store upset at the fact. That alone is not good for business. You have alot of them running off to Walmart instead.Mr.Butt needs to take some of those extra millions and invest in this community.Enlarge the store. We serve alot of surrounding communitis.Maybe an HEB Plus would'nt be a bad idea. That alone will stop all the negativity about this great city. "Biuld it and they will come"!!!

grrrrr
I just left HEB was so happy to see that it wasnt packed and thought ok finally I can get what I need and make it a fast trip
Ha! What a crazy thought. what was I thinking!!!
I walked in and I couldn't get down half of the aisles because of shopping baskets lined along the doors of the frozen food section, boxes in the middle of aisles, NO hamburger meat out and they were out of half of the things I needed.
Once again I heard myself sayin God I hate this store. But the have us by the balls. We either have to put up with HEB and their bs or travel to another town.
I finally said forget this(well those werent the exact words I used but I am sure people get the point lol) and walked out of the store and travelled to the Calallen Walmart and got everything I needed which by the way their prices ARE LOWER than HEB's.
I would much rather shop at my local HEB but it sure is getting harder and harder to even walk into it!
I so wished the big whigs at HEB would read some of these posts and realize THEY ARE LOOSING CUSTOMERS!
Someone, PLEASE BUILD ANOTHER GROCERY STORE IN MATHIS AND GIVE HEB SOME COMPETITION!

I wanted to get updates on the heb store in mathis. I am from Houston and have alot of family in the area. We can receive coupons, etc. from heb but I guess this store can't. I thought all the stores would have online access for there customers. I can pull up every manager at my local store. Alot easier to check the store ads, etc. from your home. I agree with alot of the comments made on how the Mathis store needs to improve. They have everyone around there finger because thats the only grocery store in town. The whole town of Mathis needs a make over! There are no activities for family entertainment so the money is spent in corpus. If everyone would work together the town would grow and be a better place to live. The schools and what they provide for our kids can only fall back on the parents. If you want for your kids you provide for your kids, not settle!!! I have nothing against small towns I have lived in them but for the people to place the blame, maybe they should look in the mirror. The town represents the people who live there, duh! Anyway, I guess if I want to know who works in customer service or the store manager I will have to visit the store. Behind in times in '09.

What's happening in Mathis? Let's see a game the local kids are playing. A meeting at city hall. I can't think of anything else because there is nothing else. We are not using our imaginations for all the wrong doings or even who was at mass. Why don't people put there heads together and open a skating rink, bowling alley, even a pizza place with games and movies????? The town could be so much more but everyone is wanting someone else to take care of the problem. Wake up!!! Give our kids a town to be proud of not just to chant "Go Pirates" at the games. "Build it and they will come", practice what u preach! Put ur hard earned money into your community, ride ur law enforcements to get the drugs out of your town. I know where the people are that are no good and I dont even live there. Face it everybody knows everybodys business in a small town but the crime is so high. what does that tell you! Alot of people are going through hard times not just Mathis. We still work hard for what we got no matter how many kids we have or where we came from. Its not "whoa is Mathis" no one wants to give out hand outs anymore. take care of each other and don't depend on the state or the mans property next door to do it! Thats the american way. Dont misrepresent TEXAS!

HEB definetly does have us and keeps us down. I to come from a big city and am appalled at the lack of concern or simply lack of interest about our local HEB. The difference between HEB's is so unfair, no deli, no fish market, no seasonal items, no sushi bar, no flowers or garden section, no carryout, NO MAKEUP (reason they give me is because people steal)well section off an area, and tighten security. At Christmas time we're lucky to have 20 tress and this year half of them were dead. I have many times written to HEB headquarters online, and they have responded only twice. HEB said they would be sending a special team to investigate, I'm still waiting. In Corpus the employees have special equipment to gather the shopping karts, why dont Mathis. I think we should go elsewhere and let HEB know why, I know lots of people cant go elsewhere due to limited resources wheter it be gas or a vehicle, but for those of us who can go elsewhere "DO IT" together we can make a difference.

HEB is a business and if they thought they could make money from a deli, fish market, flowers, or seasonal items they would stock these products. Their number one goal is to make money. A communities demographics dictate what a store stocks. I have never seen a grocery store without a Deli. That is the most basic of services.

MACISSO - Unless your descendants are of the following Indian tribes your people have not always been here. The Apache, Comanche, Tonkawa, Hasiani, or Karankawai. In 1749 the Lipan Apache signed a peace treaty with the Spanish. In 1785 the Comanche also signed a peace treaty with Spain. The Spanish were white European settlers just like the French, English, Germans, etc. If Mexico originally owned the territiory now known as Texas history would reveal Spain making a peace treaty with Mexico in the mid to late 1700's. Instead it lists the two aforementioned Indian Tribes. The Mexican and European settlers are all transplants to the territory now known as Texas.

Mercury turning retro is offering you the chance to make sweeping and long-lasting changes to your life, and to clear the ground for some fertile growth in 2010. Lawyers and legal matters, debates, contract negotiations, partnership or other alliances, and joint ventures of any kind need attention. As a Cancerian you don't like endings, but you must now bring an end to any situation or relationship that is holding you back or has passed its sell-by date.
