Living in a small town all my life has definitely made me want to live in a big city. When I graduated High School I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I was like everyone else, who wanted to get as far away from Mathis as possible.

Well it’s been a few years and I was able to move away, but looking back I wish that one day I can go back and try to change it for the better. The town isn’t the problem; it’s the people in it, who don’t care and aren't willing to change. I have recently found out that Im unable to have children and when I see 14 year olds get pregnant I get a little defeated. Yet Im happier knowing I wont be another statistic and end up on Welfare. However, I know that my education and career will help me maintain my happiness.

If everyone could have the same views on life as I do, I think Mathis would be a great place to live and work and thrive as a community. Im very willing to help change and make Mathis a better place to live and hopefully with my degrees I can do just that.
