My wife got a hundred dollar ticket from the Melrose Park Red Light Vigilante. She stopped for one second before turning right on red. This was on North Avenue, early in the morning and no other cars were in sight. Our appeal was denied.

If this is how Melrose Park wants to raise revenue, then you don't need our money being spent in your stores and other local businesses. The business community should tell the Melrose Village Government they are driving business away with their gestapo red light tactics.

Best wishes to you! We love your businesses, but we hate your greedy government.

MP is not the town it once was.
You're lucky a $100 ticket is all you got.
Imagine how the people living in the town feel.
Not only do they get struck with tickets like yours but they also have to deal with strip clubs and adult bookstores.
The town is going to hell and good people like you are not coming back.
Good luck.

. Simmer down now! Your wife couldn't wait a couple more seconds? You are giving us a very emotion fueled response. We don't need big city folks coming here and running over our young uns. Take your unsafe driving elsewhere! We've had too many kids die here cuz of towners like yall.

I agree with this person and millions of others.
this light BS is a way to make more money,$100.00
is a lots of money for a red light turn that 99%
of the time you can see on the video that is no cars at the road, and they shorten the time on the yellow so they can get a lot of people. to many people are brainwash by what they telling us about reducing accidents....that not true, if that is the case the should just order no right turn on Red Lights. With this economy $100.00 would feed a
all family for a week, a lot of people are on low income and no jobs and loosing their homes everyday
and those people they mention crybaby and whiners
I'm sure your work for the Village and you benefit from this....good luck to you...your time is coming.

Melrose Park does have money hungry- greedy and the list could go on and on. I got tickets for something so petty and the one that gave them to me was so damn rude. I won't be going back to that miserable town either. Not even to shop!!

Nice multiple post. News flash - these red light cameras are all across the state of Illinois. Ans they have been for years now. It was standard to complain about them in like 2010. So I'm not sure if this is your first time driving a car in years? But just to be clear, red light cameras are not a new, disingenuis Melrose Park invention, as much as RMP would like to make you believe they are. In their eyes every injustice comes from Serpico!

I will not shop in Melrose Park any longer and today when picking a Dr. They tried to give me one in Melrose Park.
I politely declined.
I can't wait for the jay walking red light tickets next.

If I drove a Jag that was being leased on the public dime, would I still have to pay for a red light violation in Melrose Park?
