You just keep beleiving in your crap. Meanwhile we racist mean whites will keep our neighborhoods up, educate and disipline our children, work hard and protect them from people like you. You can it whatever you want but here's a great example of who the racist are. If I walked through say Englewood in Chicago right now, this very minute, I would have a 8 in 10 chance of being shot dead. If a black walked through my neighberhood, noone would touch him....And who's violent?
See your post above regarding references to (my as a black person) safety in Englewood.
Why would a black not be safe in Englewood, it's 100% black? My neighborhood is predominently white, you would be safe there. We don't beat up or hurt people based on their skin color.

Mizz Leo, unfortunately, we're attempting to get Dan to see something he is determined not to see. If he is an honest person, he has to admit that what you're saying can or cannot be very true, but he has no point of reference, so he cannot be expected to speak knowledgeably. He's talking from emotion and the reality he and his friends have decided exists for black america. There are issues he makes a valid point on, but the point should be made for criminal people or bad parenting people. He makes his points using black people (as a group) as his reference and it's those blanket statements that makes him wrong.
Determined not to see? I would love to see safety in black neighborhoods, and would love that the kids there had a chance in life and would break this cycle of failure. And I do not group all black people together at all, I am talking about the majority...I work with very intelligent black people and I admire and look up to them. I have no point of reference? I live in the City of Chicago, and I have eyes and ears. I do beleive what I read in the papers nor do I beleive even half of the crap the media puts out. I just don't understand the reasoning that these problems are not race related, because I think they are. How anyone can disagree is beyond me. Sorry if I offend anyone, they are just my views...

One last comment to you....if being good with people and being very smart is all it took to rise to the top, trust me there would be more minorities running the show. We are the most compassionate people alive. I'm curious, how did you get your job?? MAKE BELIEVE CEILING??? I don't believe I said anyting about ME not being able to advance in a company, I am doing well for myself, thank you very much. I am not where I am because of who I know, it is because of what I bring to the table. Me making it to the top should not be based on whether I am likeable or not, it should be based on my educational background and work ethic. I am in an office where nine times out of ten, I am the only African American in the room. Whether they like me or not is of no concern to me, I am there to do a job, not make friends. I have the pleasure of working with a Director who is a very HONEST and EQUAL White man, who looks past skin color. Maybe you need to take a few pages out of his book.
And I did not say that's all it takes....Blacks are the most commpassionate people alive? I agree there many compassionate black people...I guess the problem is that you cannot explain to me why places with a large population of blacks are the way they are. Not just in the U.S, but what about places like Africa?

See, just when I was starting to see some sense in what you were saying, you go and bring Africa into this. You cannot in any way compare the violence here ot the violence in Africa. That is a totally different world over there.

I am deeply saddened by the lifes (if you want to call it that) that children in Africa have to live. Our children are not left parentless because their father is killed and their mother died of Aids or Malaria. They are not left to raise their brothers and sisters, searching for food, and constantly hiding from the rebels. Our sons are not forced to join rebels and trained to kill as young as 8. Our daughters do not have to live through the monstrosities that they go through over there. We are not dying of malaria and hunger. We have plenty of clean water to drink. There are vast differences that you are clearly unaware of to have even brought Africa into this mix.

Yes, we have crime. We have parents that are bad parents. But that is not the majority. People have to wake up see what's going on with their children and do something about it. All races, and cultures included!

I know I said that was my last comment BUT...I did not say blacks, I said MINORITIES are the most compassionate people alive. No you didn't bring AFRICA into this. You seem to be somewhat knowledgeable and could pass for having a high school diploma, but some of your statements really make me wonder. Perhaps World History wasn't one of your strong suits in school, heck, I didn't enjoy it myself either. I strongly urge you to do your research, start with the MIDDLE PASSAGE and if reading is not your thing, try the movie "Roots",(it's at Blockbuster)!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I shouldn't have stated Africa, it was just the first place with a big black population I thought of. I also feel very badly for those kids...I want to vomit when I see those pictures of them with flies and stuff all over them. I don't see how you can say it's not the majority of the population that is bad. If violence and drug use and bad parenting was just the monority of black people then they be be no worse than white people, because we also have our share of this, but it is not the majority. Alot of people like to analize problems, I just say what I see on a daily basis, maybe it comes across as harsh, but Jesus, whenever I turn the dam news on there goes a baby getting beaten to death, or falling out of a window, or swinging on a swing when they're hit by a bullet....I'm sick of hearing about it.

I did apologize for using Africa above, I was the one who said let's keep it to America. I do have my diploma but no Phd in anything....I think every race has compassionate people but when I look around the U.S and see places like L.A and the areas around Chicago...I just don't see any compassion. I really could care less about compassion towards me, when I say compassion I mean compassion for their own neighbors and kids.

I attend proviso east high school. If you people knew how it was there you wouldn't be talking. everyday dedicated students like myself have to fight everyday not fighting like at the game but fight to go school and get a good enough education to get into college. No one knows how rough it is until you are there. did you ever stop and realize some people were raised to think that have to fight to survive I can personally tell you that what some of my schoolmates go through on a day to day basis would break some peoples hearts. I not trying to make excuses but before you judge us try to understand that the world isn't what it use to be and instead of bringing us down try praying for us because believe it or not we will have to take care of you and your families one day.

I live in hillside and I would love for that school to be Shut down once and for all!!. Whatever news I hear are always bad. I heard that troubled kids from the surrounding suburbs are sent here. We don't want them. My kids are still small but when they are ready to attend high school there is no way I would send them there. I like Hillside and why should I have to move when I'm paying taxes. Keep those kids in their towns in their schools.

They are young gangbangers just starting out in their lifelong adventure of crime. So they kill each other on the basketball court, so what. They will eventually shoot each other on the street anyway.
And to think one their kind might be president. sad. sad.

You're in the same boat as me, except my wife and son are Mexican. You may not raise them to notice skin color, but I can promise you they will learn on their own.
