Glad to see something was finally done. I myself just wish more would have been done.

Just how much more punishment do you think this kid should receive? NOT ONLY is he a CHILD, but Is it not enough to live the rest of his life with the knowledge that he was driving the car that resulted in the death of his best friend? Other teenagers claim that these kids and a few others in their group of friends have been known to do all sorts of horseplay stunts on/with their cars, the deceased included.

Nope not prison, he's in a juvenile detention facility and will be out too soon.

I agree with Ummm. Both boys were acting stupid and driving too fast. They both have cars that are meant to be driven fast and have been known to all sorts of stunts with the car. I'm sorry Jay should of been wearing his seat belt and Jay had the responsibility to put it on. He did play a part in this and sadly had the ultimate price for not realizing their actions could be dangerous. Maybe it would have turned out differently. The other kid is living in his own hell by causing the accident. Again it was an horrible accident with kids being stupid.

Very unfortunate for all involved. Hopefully we all could learn from this tragedy. I have lost far too many friends racing motorcycles and cars. It prompted me to slow down and make better choices years ago. It was a hard lesson to learn. The loss of this young man may wise up several of his friends and all those who hear of what occurred. His loss may save others lives. My heart goes oyt to his family. Rest in peace. The anguish the young man in detention is feeling I would think would be far than enough although I don't know all the details. Regardless a horrible tragedy.

Any death so young is tragic, juvenile jail is enough considering the guilt he'll
Carry the rest of his life. I've seen this before up close I lost one friend in a similar accident, another years later after a stint in jail, the other dwelt in sorrow & alcoholism till that combined with Vicodin put him down. Shame both were friends and really good kids at heart
