You didn't read the story, now that's something that I'm not surprised about.

Only in Crook County! Gotta love it. The Repubs seem to have problems with keeping their pants on and the Dems seem to have a problem keeping their relatives hands out of the public coffers. If Daley, Stroger, Flowers etc didn't have any relatives to hire or award lucrative contracts to, Chicago and the county would be operating in the black. Between all the sweetheart deals and the "Richard M. Daley Memorial Olympics" there won't be two nickels left to rub together by the time Daley is kicked to the curb.

What an example of pure corruption. How often have we seen this dirty game played over & over again? Somehow the states' money becomes the politicians personal piggy bank. Their entire family ends up on the payroll. This idiot didn't even have enough brain matter to consider he just might get caught with both hands in the cookie jar. Illinois politics never change, the more corrupt, the better chance of winning an election.

Hehehe. Whenever I want to read about corrupt officials, the Chicago Tribune never lets me down.

There's an UNLIMITED supply of Chicago crooks in official positions to choose from - like shooting fish in a barrel.

How is transferring its duties to the state going to make any difference? We've just ousted a governor who was giving away jobs in return for money and the state university is giving away admissions because they were pressured by politicians. Don't you think the people downstate will treat the position like it was the lottery - f'in golden?

Gee, yet no one can find ways to cut waste in the Government, that is, normally until a scandal hits. For as fast and often as they hit in Illinois Everyone's budget would be balanced by now, actually balanced and offering tax cuts.

And on another point, why do they have regional offices anyway? All they do is act as intermediary between local districts and the state board. They don't do anything that districts couldn't do themselves.

I'm so glad these people finally have to answer to someone. This office is completely lazy. I've called down there many regarding my certificate and they either don't answer the phone or they are rude. When you leave a message they never call you back.

This is NOT a Chicago Public Schools office. It has absolutely nothing to do with the CPS system and only interacts with the suburban Cook County districts. I know you're not from chicago as your post states, but please read the article first.

This guy is still a crook and should be thrown away. This office is ineffective and useless and really is a textbook example of government bureaucracy taken too far. Any change from the status quo could only be beneficial

Other than public safety, every local government function should be privatized with contracts awards through a competitve bidding process supervised by the judiciary.

Thanks for injecting the racist comment in the discussion, WEJ. You've really contributed positively to this message board, you lamebrain.
