How does the Serpico family and relatives deal with what has become of Melrose Park under Ron Serpico?

Forget about the embarrassment of a monument to a convicted felon who stole from the very people that trusted him.

Just look at what a mess the city has become.

Curious as to how embarrassed or upset or disinterested Serpico family members are?

I can't speak to any specific corruption regarding the current mayor or his family. But I did live in the city for almost 5 years. And from an outsiders perspective, MP is a dying town. Manufacturing is not coming back, corporations that were once pillars of a community are gone and new technology based companies have no reason to seek their fortunes in MP.

The people who frequent Danny's or Aburrzzi's have a romantic view of that little town where their Nona lives. The people who continue to live in MP need to ask themselves how they let one family steer the whole ship so far off course.

There is nothing anybody could have done to prevent the loss of Jewel, Zenith, or Alberto Culver; but what has been done to replace those jobs? Costco? Olive Garden? You can't raise a family by being a wage slave. And While the walls were caving in on the working class what has the Serpico family done to enrich the lives of the people or enhance the educational landscape to create the next batch of business leaders?

Instead this family embraced tactics of division by not welcoming a new ethnic groups into the community. Driving away large corporations, and questionable use of programs like TIFs.

Wow. Very well stated.
They are fixated on an era gone by. Dumb and unable to adapt to the realityof diminishing factory jobs.

Stuck in a delusion. And yet they keep hiring non qualified lazy friends and relatives.

Are you capable of a thought or opinion? It doesnt seem like you ever really answer a question or add to a thread.

Stop trolling and contribute. If you have a brain and are capable of original thought.
