Are they stupid? Yes. Craving attention? Yes. Criminals? NO!
Technically, it is child porn. No matter if it is voluntary, it doesn't belong on the internet. One girl was only 16. The 19 yr old posted the 16 year old and herself on her My Space as did the 16 year old post the same on her respective My space. If my daughters were doing this, believe me, I would understand that it is WRONG. I haven't thought about what kind of punishment is deserving though.

Well, if 16 year old girls can get married and drop out of school - who says they can't post pictures of themselves online. The 16yr old posted her own picture. If she's old enough to get married and have children... she's old enough to decide where she posts her own picture. Is her choice dumb - sure - but again - her body - her choice... should not be criminal.

But isn't it underage porn on the internet?

Well... there needs to be clarification in "Underage" - if you are married or a ward of the state (technecally independant) Why must you be bunched into the same group as kids who live at home with mom and dad and are "kids" in all respects of the word. Meanwhile, if you take on the life of an adult by age 16...(Many kids graduate high school at 16) you should be trated like an adult.

Some kids do graduate high school at 16, but they are still minors and the laws regarding minors still apply. They can't purchase cigerettes or alcohol even if they get married. When my ex husband and I used to go to dinner, we couldn't order a drink because we were under 21, but we could smoke because we were over 18. LOL there wasn't the internet then, but I guess we could have posted taped sex sessions on the internet because of our age.

I just don't want to see any child pornography laws we have in place get watered down to accomodate the 'willing exhibitionists' that are underage.

Anyway, too bad for this girl. I hope she doesn't end up regreting more than the legal trouble.

She may have posted the pic but who took it? Did the 19 year old take pics of the 16 year old? If it was a 19 year old boy taking pics of a 16 year old girl would it be ok? Child porn is WRONG no matter who takes the pictures. I don't even agree with 18 year old women dressing and making themselves appear to be children for the "barely legal" type pornography. They cater to pedophiles and the pedophiles don't need any encouragement that what turns them on is ok. IT ISNT OK. Studies have shown that prior to actually molesting or raping children pedophiles often look at child pornography.

I couldn't tell from the article who took the pictures. She could have taken the photo herself with her cell phone, digital cam or web cam.

A new way to get in trouble.

Milena, from your spirited defense, I guess that you are close to sixteen.
The real problem is, most 16's are not as mature as you.
It is fairly easy for a twisted individual to manipulate them.

Im many states, the age for marrage is 18. A parent's permission is required for 16 or 17.

Even 19 is too young to marry for most people today (in truth, many at 35 are still too childish.) Consider the GRUPS.

A ward of the state is not independant, but a liberated youth is. Even so, the age of consent (in my state is 17 for intercourse,) but 18 for posing for porn, Including liberated youth.

Fight the good fight, but pick your battles better. We don't want kids flaunting their bodies for perverts. That's why we have these laws: To protect the vast majority who are still immature.

As youth, they deserve a big scare, and dismissal pending good behavior.
And you have better things to do.

Sorry, but it's defined as child pornoghraphy AND it doesn't belong on the Internet. They can take their photos but shouldn't be publishing them, especially on My Space.

Pornoghraphy and indescent exposure, really. What lil h**s,I'm sorry, but the only reason they would do this,is to gain popularity, maybe going for their school but hit the entire world? they h**d it to the max.Theres no sympothy, and y is there so much rape, because SOME lil prostitutes gotta show their junk all over the net!Making their sick minds lore away from reality. Then they end up having a craving for some high school student. MYSpace should maybe have a monitor system, but they should not be held accountable for some complete air-heads stupidity!

MrBill - I'm not close to 16 and I am married... So taking such pix is not my thing... But at 16 and 19.... These girls can make up their own minds about being sluts.

Yeah but the laws the law- and if it says a child is someone who is under the age of 18--then the 16 year old is a child and it is porn...in some countries they marry off their young at the age of 9, 10 or 11--should these children have the say as to where they post their pictures. The law would be interferring with their parental figures.

No because the law states that a child is someone under the age of 18. Even emanicapated adults, still need to follow the rules set up for children.
