Made his friends can have a memorial for the two killed kids. If the past holds up they can have a trifecta when they get ran down. Here, I will help. Stay off the roads when doing memorials. Cars are dangerous to be around. Geezzz...

what is the deal with people having to have all of there rediculous memorials all over the place. After you seen about 100 of them they sort of loose their sentimental value. Where was this mother of the 14 year old. my mother would have beat my ass if I even thought about driving her care at 14. Maybe if this kid got the beating he deserved this could have been avoided.

The 18 year old was probably killed by a differnt uncontrolled drunk 14 year old. Now won't that be ironic

I agree those third world makeshift road side memorials look like crap. At least remove them after a day of two.

I believe the thought behind the memorials are that the person actually died in that spot and that is why they go there. They find comfort in visiting the actual spot where a loved one has passed away. I see your point, however, have you ever lost anyone close to you in a tragic, unsudden way? I am sure if you had, you may want to visit the spot. I do understand your point about all the crosses, flowers, teddy bears, etc. Actually though if you look at it from a different point of view - it is a good reminder for the rest of us, of just how many people are dying on our roads. Maybe we will all get the message and quit with the speeding or the drinking and driving, racing, cutting people off, etc.?

How sad that you would write such an awful comment about the parents and you don't even know them, their family, friends, etc. You made a blanket statement and have no idea of the pain that you inflicted upon this family. How do you think this mother feels? How do you know they did not try to do something with this kid? When you get your life in perfect order - and you are totally lilly white in your life, come back and we'll talk. I wonder how your mother would feel if the shoe was on the other foot?

I'm from the school that Andrew Coit was currently attending, and to read all of the cruel things the majority have said, is astonishing. Yes, the first boy who died, was drunk and it was a result of his own actions, but Andrew, he was doing what he loved which is playing guitar at the site where his friend died hours earlier. It's a disgrace to Andrew, my school, the country you live in, and yourselves to be saying these things. It's pathetic to say that I have to live in the same country as any of you who are blaming an 18 year old playing guitar for his death.

how would someone hit themselves with a car? I live within 5 minutes of where it happened and went to school with Andrew, there aren't any faults in the story. The 14 year old hit a pole at 11 pm when he died, and then 5 hours later the second boy was hit at 4am.

My kid would not be out at that time of the morning, 18 or not.
when someone close to you dies, your first instinct isn't always that you are going to be hit by a drunk driver, i don't know anyone who can predict when they're going to be encountered by a drunk driver. there are numerous instances of aclohol related incidents at any time of the day.

This whole fad of holding roadside memorials at the place of death is stupid. Why can't these people go to the graveyard instead?

The 14 year old was drunk, the driver that hit the 4 am guitar player has not been found, so noone will ever know if he/she was drunk at the time.
yes i know the 14 year old was drunk, and the driver who hit the 18 year old, more than likely was drunk.
