Fireworks in R.I.: What's legal and what's not
That's the dividing line the state's public safety officials and residents looking to celebrate the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence are trying to find this month, as a new state fireworks law has eased the restrictions on some, but not all, backyard pyrotechnics.

In General all hand held fireworks are legal, roman candles fire crackers....ETC
Anything that uses a mortar is illegal,
Basically anything that you while your still holding it is LEGAL
Anything you light off on the ground is not
