A child I know had a very bad sickness before Christmas. She still went to events with other children during this time. WHY do parents allow this. The schools are closed today and tomorrow. Was I notified? NO. I have asked time & time again to be on the notification list. I joined the useless PTA phone tree. Still nothing. Go to the schools website. NOTHING about the closing. Go to the School CORPS website. Again NOTHING about my school closing. Call the school, NO ANSWER, NO VOICE MESSAGE. NOTHING. Go to turnto10.com where we are suppose to look for school closings. Guess what NOTHING. The lack of information around here is scary & disappointing.

I agree with you - this is appalling! I think a lot of parents send their kids to school or daycare sick because they don't have the time to deal with them - how sad!! So, the rest of the kids pay for it.
If I was you, I would write a letter to the newspaper editor about the lack of information and communication the school provided. Get other parents to sign it and offer suggestions. Or, send a letter to the principal and school board, signed or not signed.
Good luck and stay healthy!
