Great White offers $1M to settle fatal fire suits

Members of the 1980s rock band whose pyrotechnics sparked a nightclub fire that killed 100 people have agreed to pay $1 million to survivors and victims' relatives, according to court papers filed Tuesday.

The problem did not lie with the exits. Some of the exits where locked, blocked, or not lighted properly. I felt ad for everyone involved here and I think the band took alot of blame that truly was not warranted. I mean they even lost someone in this tragedy. I do not know how many times I have been into clubs that were clearly over fire code occupation levels. Go to any club in downtown G.R. on any given weekend and you will see what I mean. Sad part about it is that no one enforces these codes and most of the time greasy palms are to blame.
