Gee - "homosexuals/sinners/Anti christ...I wonder if that group went to protest all the homes of the catholic priests that molested children or went to protest the catholic bishops that covered it up - not to mention if they are so intent on protecting traditional marriage they better be going to protest all those catholics that divorce since divorce is a sin in the catholic world - violence is never okay but neither is hypocricy - I agree with just sayings mother - organized religion is horrible and causes so much pain and suffering in the world

typical catholic fear - little sheep following the rules of men - so sad

Any chance these chicks will be charged with a hate crime? I would be surprised if they get anything but a fine or community service. The only thing the men said was, they were "Antichrist, homosexuals and sinners." Hardly gay slurs. The last two are facts(since as Christians we believe all are sinners and come short of the glory of God). The first one is a bit of a stretch. I mean I would think the anti-christ would have more important things to do than throw condiments at protesters!
calling someone a sinner or antichrist is NO ONES place - doesn't matter if one is a christian or not - typical christian - we know the path to God and no one else does - love how christians skip right over "Judge not least ye be judged" - those men passed judgement so I guess they made God mad so perhaps they better go take a class on proper christian behavior or be afraid of Gods wrath since that is more in line with catholic beliefs?

I think what happened is great. These Bible bangers need to be taught a lesson, period! How dare they come to my, liberal, state and spread their hate. News flash; many people live in New England because of the freedoms and liberal nature the area and people have to offer. This state is not Alabama!
Secondly, don't preach anything from the Bible unless you are following all of the teachings yourself. You know...the stuff about no premarital sex, no birth control, no masterbating, no alcohol, no divorce, no eating shrimp, etc. All of those things call for death or a quick ride to hell.
Here is a little sample, of a quote, from the religious rights favorite biblical book...

If a man commits adultery with another man's wife--with the wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.

Leviticus 20:10

Well, well...they have a lot of work to do :)

Take it easy. I'm a Christian and I don't feel it's my place to judge anyone. I don't stand on street corners and protest things, I have a life. So let's not group all Christians into one category of being judgemental and hypocritical. I'm a sinner and it's not my place to judge anyone else. Many Christians feel the way I feel...

I have a question.......???

If this group is ALL ABOUT TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE, FAMILY AND PROPERTY........please explain WHY they are not PROTESTING DIVORCE? What does PROPERTY have to do with MARRIAGE OR FAMILY? and Why do they care?

Sorry........I mean from my understanding of this group and article.......they are concern about Same-Sex Couples having the right to marry, yet they DON'T SEEM CONCERNED ABOUT STOPPING THESE TRADITIONAL MARRIED COUPLES FROM DIVORCING. That makes little sense to me......and WTF has property got to do with ANYTHING?

What Same-Sex Couples aren't allowed to own property?

Seems to me that this group is a bit hypocritical if you ask me.

Well just asking a few questions.

Not trying to interrupt the pissing match here, but if I'm not mistaken, this is the same group that stood out on Eisenhower when The Da Vinci Code came out in theaters. They were D-bags. Every last one.

"She alleged that when they drove by, the group shouted anti-gay slurs at them, and Scungio threw a soda bottle."

Lots of lib idiots on this thread I see.

Regardless of the issue of the 1st Amendment right of free speech, which I think still applies to Rhode Island unless there has been a coup the, the problem with the quote above is that it would be impossible for the traditional marriage people to know that the attackers were gay (and thus shout anti-gay slurs) unless the lesbians were already attacking them or insulting them.

Pffft, because as we all know, the sexual orientation of people driving by in a car is so readily apparent.

Pretty obvious lie, Scrungio. Work on your alibi.

I could really care less what sex you choose to be with. I am a happily married woman with a beautiful daughter, but noone should care who you want to spend your life with. There are more important things to worry about then making sure gays cant marry. It dosent affect you, or harm you so why should you have the right or even the need to put your two cents in? My feeling on it is, if straight people lose half of everything in a divorce then gays should too.

Thank you for your work!

Samesex marriage is just annother thing where our society is heading the wrong direction.
And this assault shows again who is agressive and who is peaceful!

Keep up the good work!

I completely support the protestors. Not because of what they protest but because they protest. The constitution gave us this invaluable right and no one should be able to tell us when and where we can use it. How is it okay for Cindy Sheehan and her followers to protest at Bush's Crawford, TX ranch and it's not okay for citizens to protest against something they don't believe in?

Get over it people - this is America - land of the free.

I wonder - those that support the bible thumpers -if the bible thumpers were protesting THEIR existence - calling them antichrist, sinners, etc...would they support them then? It is easy to support the protesters when they aren't targeting you, isn't it?
If protesters were targeting women or blacks or white straight men I wonder how much support there would be?
Homosexuals are sick and tired of being abused by people who use the bible as a weapon and it is about time they stood up and said - NO, NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Put the BOOK down and go and do something worthwhile with your lives, boys and leave the gays alone.

I am delighted that there have been so many replies in support of homosexuals.

Bible thumpers are so yesterday - stuffy, tired and useless.

and many also feel they are better then those who do not practice christianity. they give all christians a bad rep. it's unfortunate that you are labeled as such because of others ignorance, but that's the way most things work these days, a few idiots always ruin it for everyone else.

Yeah I mean what did religious people ever do to help civilization? Besides furthering education, founding hospitals, founding America, leading an abolishion movement, write a constitution that allows other people to worship(or not) as they please even if they differ from their views! You're right they've done nothing good!

Way to be dense there, chief. When people don't listen to whatever brainrot they're afflicted with, they're just as good as anybody else. When they do listen to superstitious nonsense and shut down the reasoning parts of their brain they act like loud-mouthed, bigoted, morons. It just so happens that religion is one of the most widely used mental anesthetics.
