Tom Jones needs to become informed. If you want large projects to come to your Town you offer incentives. In this case we are trying to bring a 150 million dollar resort with an indoor water park to West Warwick.275 new jobs, over 1/2 million in taxes the first year. There were no special deals, no underhanded arrangements. Simply 2 1/2 years of Town Meetings many of them Public, Meetings at the State House,Meetings at the Local School for Ward Residents. But Mr. Jones is trying to get elected... as a write-in no less. People see him for what he is.

I am totally for the water park as not only will it be bringing jobs to West Warwick and the state, but will also be generating tax revenues for the Town.

In January 2008 I stayed in Nashua New Hamshire and the state rep for the area told me that Nashua threw out the Water Park developer, so he came to Wset Warwick with a story.

Right now people in Southern New England and Kent County, i.e. West Warwick have no idea that they have to stay in the Hotel at $275.00 per night to use the water park emenities.

Also the initial number of jobs are 140 for the first two years, this is what was present for the same size park in Nashua.

The jobs will pay $8.50 to $10.95 without benefits... Right now the Town of West Warwick receives $56,000.00 in tax revenue isn't ii great for the owner of the land not having to pay any taxes for 22 year. Usually TIF money is a maxium of 20 years, but what happens if the Water Park owners decide to sell to a casino entity in 8 years. Would the new owners have to pay taxes? Of course not...

There is no clause for a sale with profit in contract, the only one who would get tax revenue is the Federal Government, not the Town of West Warwick.

Calci showed a repot at the August 4th Town Council meeting, it did show there was enough water for the capacity planned for West Warwick Water Park....

Although the report was from 1974 study and staistics when Kent County had 27% less households utilizing Kent Wat Authority supply.

Dear Mr. DeJoy are you slighting all write-in candidates or just Tom Jones. No matter what your thinking, Jones crushed the casino and with a little help from old Save Our State team you will have your project crushed.

If your project is so good why did two towns and on city throw you out, once they checked your referrences..

PS You don't like write in, but if 5,000 voters wrote in against the water park your next presentation will be Three Mile Island, NJ. I understand they still need to cool down year round.

They revised the proposal. Now "Dale J. DeJoy, the principal Rhode Island partner in the deal has since revised Shipwreck’s proposed hotel-guests-only rule, saying the resort may open to local walk-ins on weekdays and other down times." But by "MAY open" does that mean they MIGHT open for locals or they gave permission so it will definitely be open for locals without a room? It sort of irritates me that we are not welcomed on weekends or when it is busy. It makes me feel like since we are not paying for a hotel room it doesn't matter. If it is $40 a day, if even 20 locals came in, that's $800 a day,$5,600 a week. They still have to pay the same amount of people and they won't incur any additional expenses, and those 20 people will still have to eat! Way more than that would go per day without a room, I just didn't understand that logic... Why in the Hell would I pay for a room when I could walk to the park from my house?
It is good that "the town still gets about $20 million in property taxes over the life of the bond, plus an estimated $12 million in hotel and meal taxes and 250 new jobs", I just DO NOT want any possibility that a casino will wind up being in RI. I don't know how it could happen, but i know RI and the corruption that goes along with it and if you pay the right people, you can make anything happen. It may be good for the town, but BAD for me! haha It would be too close.

Traveling around sites in New England like Maine and New Hampshire, there never was any developer money, this project was tied to casino and other resort entertainment, eatery and factory outlets.
During my last stay in Nashua, NH Marriot Court Yard, it took 13 days to get to the bottom of the "2010 walk-in the water park~gravy train or bus loads of immediate revenues novel."
It now appears that with Maine's approval of gaming that the West Warwick Water Park Owners~Never Developers, want to pull out of Rhode Island and be closer to another country like Canada. Perhaps in the Carolinas region, now a blue state quick approval, for more year round 40 to 75 mile radius auto and school, camp, church and very political states' use and expansion to international air, rail and water water way travelers.
New PAC group "defining not re-defining the water park's initial objective with subjectives to never be honest and above board with funominal intent."
It had to do with politics folks not funding for funning the Ocean state residences and quest in their off tourist and biz travelers season.
Thanks again Mr. DeJoy for pulling back on the local fun and funding when Rhod Islander's need jobs and local food, beverage, over-night stay ad entertainment revenues.
PS This was the only thing that our new Senator, Michael Pinga had in mind for new revenues and the Mr. Pinga and The West Warwick Town Manager will probably be facing The Town of West Warwick's Bankruptcy proceeding in April and May of 2009..........
{Confindentially!!! You only receive my staffers' correct spelling and gramm.., if you bring money into our town and state rather than have already cost time of State Political and Town of West Warwick area of researchers $246,980.000. Although, please pay your $56,000.00 plus in town real estate taxes immediately for 2007 through 2008, the town needs them now!}

Mr. DeJoy please respond to 2010 on Ballot candidates in The State of Rhode Island, we would like to here your story. Seriously!

Start with the conception of your idea, all the othe places I have visted and researched you tried to get approval, your developer and that your have a water slide and minature golf course in Kansas.

The left over funds from S.O.S. have been a watch dog on you and your plans. You have had many chances to defend your integrity and project. Why can you not do so.

You better get it built, because if the Town of West Warwick goes into bankruptcy, the state will take over decision making and revenue allocation and re-allocation and will put the West warwick Water Park on a refferandum in 2010! Also S.O.S. has re-activated the 1991-1993 "We The People~which was founded by The Caianiellos, The Jones and The Late well respected Joseph Pinga in all corners of West Warwick and developable land commercial holdings throughout South Eastern New England.

We have spent approximately $3,900.00 researching your story, you the citizens of West Warwick and explanation, when the town could have created a refferandum to offer something elase for bring in hospitality tax and jobs and guests to Kent County shopping and eatery district.

As West Warwick Town Council creates a charter committee in 2009 you will be held responsible for the towns loses on this project, so if you would like to cow or bow out of your story now, let town officials know now.
