You sound like a jerk. Better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

From Maysville Ledger-Independent

....According to a colleague, McEllwain may have fallen asleep returning from visiting a family member who had recently been hospitalized in Cincinnati. There did not appear to be indications that any attempt to brake was made prior to the vehicle leaving the road. The accident happened a few miles from McEllwain's home, the colleague said.

To Friend, why in the world would you even ask a stupid question like that at the time of someones death? Its irrelevant why he was driving...and i can assure you there was no secret to be hidden ...He was visiting his father who had under gone surgery in cincy....have you ever been out that late? circumstance doesant always fall on our days off or during daylight hours...my condolences go to Dougs family and friends,,and my prayers go to ppl who are judgmental and just uneducated on what to say and what not to say in a situation like this

I get what you mean. I too was wondering what could of had him out late at night. Nothing bad came to mind. My first thought was a business trip since he is a lawyer. Then maybe he was returning home from visiting family. Either way my heart goes out to the family. No matter how he died, he will be missed.

Leave it to the people of Adams county to take a nice memorial of Doug and ruin it by the typical bullcrapp that normally appears on this site! Doug will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him and nobody can every replace him at what he did!! R.I.P. Doug !

I agree strongly with worker and snoopy, this is just tragic that poor Doug cant even die without speculation and assumptions, true friends would never devalue him publically no matter what the circumstances may be...rest my friend
