"Norma Salazar, who shares a tiny trailer home with her husband and six children"

And the politically incorrect question, why do poor parents have children that they cannot afford?

They're ignorant because they're poor. What's your excuse, rich tax cut supporter?

People need to stop breeding kids that they cannot take care of are forcing the rest of the tax payers to take care of their mistakes. A condom will cost you less than a $1 and Hispanic women need to keep their legs closed or get on the pill!

I don't know who you the hell you know, but for most Latinas birth control is against our religion! We have absolutely no problem collecting welfare when necessary.

We must not blame God for the heatwave. Doesn't the water from the Gulf of Mexico provide moisture to the lower half of the United States? Doesn't the sun's rays go into the Gulf of Mexico water to produce moisture to be lifted up into the clouds to be carried north to provide a cooling effect to the southern part of the United States? But with that oil spill, there's likely still a significant amount of that oil in the Gulf water blocking moisture to be created so that a cooling process could occur.

By the way, tornadoes are caused by a screwy weather system, too, right? So, what I'm trying to say is, is it really a coincidence about those devastating tornadoes & now this devestating heatwave happening after that catastrophic oil spill? I seriously doubt it.

What century (or bario) are you living in? The only religion that most Latinas are familiar with are when they are screaming "Oh God" as they are getting nailed by some vatos chorizo - that's as close to religion as most latinas get. The latina girls I know are educated, have a career and insist on condoms. They don't want to end up pregnant and are out to have a good time

Thee poor people are always whining and complaining with their hand out. They'll just have to suck it up like the rest of us during the heat and not wear so many clothes. I personally strip down to my thong and have a few beers and I'm good on a humid day. These people need to stop their bellyaching and get with the program.

Neal Boortz had an interesting take on having children that poor people cannot afford:
http://www.boortz.com/weblogs/nealz-nuze/2011...

"OK .. maybe now’s the time to deal with this “your children” line. Yes, it’s true that our children will be left to handle this debt burden. But I want you to think of something for a moment. Just who is downloading the children who will have to shoulder this burden? This isn’t a very politically correct thing to say, but in our country today the less able you are to afford the cost of raising a child, the more likely it is that you will have one – and more than one. The moocher class is a productive class in one sense only --- procreating; producing more moochers. The child birth rates are lowest among Americans who can bear the cost and highest among Americans who cannot. Now – would it be fair to make the assumption that more responsible Americans who make good economic decisions are more likely to raise children who will follow the same path? Sure … this is a generalization, but I’m guessing that way into the future studies will show that it was the children of economically responsible parents who will pretty much cover this nation’s future tax burden.

So … when you hear people talking about the horrible burden that is being placed on our children with the orgy of spending and borrowing we’re engaged in today; just remember. Those begat by moochers may well continue to be moochers, while those begat by achievers will be carrying the burden. Again; I know --- it’s not true across the board, but I think we’ll see that this is the way it will play out."

Neil is off his rocker. We need to distribute fans to these poor people or they'll die. It's really h9ot in Dallas, you know. I'd bet the Pope would not approve of this cavalier attitude.

We have third generation families on government aid.

You don't need the government to distribute fans now do you?

I'd bet the pope would say don't spend more than you take in and live within your means.

No, the government doesn't have to do it. Here locally, the fire department helps the needy with their cooling problems.

The Pope doesn't have to worry about this because he lives in an air conditioned pad and wherever he goes, someone follows him to keep him iced down. However, he says we ought to love our neighbor and I can't think of a nicer thing to do that to help someone keep cool in this heat. If we all chip in, it won't cost that much.

I can't stand all these gay bashers, immigrant bashers and sexist fools who want to bring us all down. Thank you for calling him out and standing up for truth and justice.
