To f--kin bad they are in a big hurry to get their kids to Elpaso schools and welfare, lonestar cards and free medical. Well let them wait longer or pay 10 dollars not pesos to speed up the crossing time. Could save tax payers and pay for the fast pass system.

The system is not what it should be and part of the problem is that here we have no way of verifying birth certificates from Mexico without investigation of Church Baptismal records and birth records of hospitals in Mexico. There is also no way the judicial system can really check the criminal backgrounds of some of the applicants easily.
The U.S. Consulate in Juarez and the Embassy needs all of the records to give a green light to the applicants. While it would be nice if everything was computerized in Mexico and verifiable by birth certificate and finger prints, we can't do it in a speedy manner until Mexico centralizes all human records back to 1920 to prove citizenship there.
Record keeping in Mexico is a piece of trash unless you have millions of dollars as a clean military and police force in effect.
