Honestly I didn't read the WHOLE description of the book, since I got tired, after reading 50% of it.
My view: A novel Chicano, eager to provide Americans with masturbatury pleasures, describing what they love to hear/read: A Mexico of shadows and horrors.
Lots of cheap thrills. Recommended.

you are an idiot. a journalist was murdered last week in oaxaca. and a human rights defender was murdered just yesterday, also in oaxaca.
i would have thought a full treatment of the book would be useful, given the tragedy of what is happening to journalists in mexico. and the ongoing human rights violations.
but if you don't have the time to read a 2,520 word review. what's the point of you telling us that the book is full of "cheap" thrills, since you obviously don't really know how to read, and you don't really know what is important about mexico.
oh, and Corchado is not a Chicano. SO READ THE BOOK.
