PATRICK ADMINISTRATION LAUNCHES COMMUNITY WIND ENERGY INITIATIVE

Why not just say that this initiative by the Governor is so idiotic that Wind Wise is positively dumbfounded?

In the wake of all of the problems in Falmouth, Fairhaven, Kingston and Scituate (to name but a few), when will the Governor, the Secretary of Energy Affairs and the Commissioner of the Department of Environmental "Protection" acknowledge the obvious:

INDUSTRIAL WIND TURBINES ARE INCOMPATIBLE WITH OTHER ALL USES OF LAND, INCLUDING RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITIES!

--How will changing the "noise standards" make them less noisy?

--How can this effort of "outreach" ever result in siting the wind turbines at a safe distance from homes.....at the same time that they are planted in residential communities, as "Community Wind" projects?

--Who on earth has any faith or trust in the MA DEP (which denies all problems and refuses to enforce existing noise regulations) or the MA Clean Energy Center (which never saw a wind turbine it couldn't love -- and recommend to be built)?

--Aren't these the SAME AGENCIES that have ALREADY caused incalculable damage to Massachusetts residents?

This is about as rational as proposing to install the wind turbines on the moon and transmit the energy down to earth through a laser beam (yet to be developed by those insanely smart geeks at MIT who shall remain unnamed).

Has anyone on the Governor's team -- who are presumably holed up in an underground bunker in a secure, undisclosed location somewhere near Beacon Hill -- bothered to talk to anyone at Princeton Municipal Power & Light or in Portsmouth, RI to ask them how their Community Wind projects are panning out?

How are things looking in Falmouth? And Fairhaven? And Kingston -- from an economic point of view, for the developers?

Will this initiative be attached to the Senate bill that seeks funding to dismantle the wind turbines in Falmouth; or will it stand alone? I think that the Governor should be clear on this point, don't you?
