Yes, very well put.

Isn't there at least a hint of bias when Sarah Palin joins the station.

"Fair and Balanced" is stated and restated constantly so that you will eventually believe it. Just like the McD ads and a thousand others.

Take it for what its worth. I suspect those that like it are simply using it to justify their own opinions without question. If they were truly confident of their opinions then they would watch (or read) other sources to be even better informed.

Fox preaches to A choir but not the entire choir. They expect you have the same opinion.

The ultra conservative (the moderate conservatives are not the problem) know that if they simply restate things eventually it will be accepted. PEOPLE SHOULD SEE THROUGH THIS BUT THEY DONT.

Dont forget the MUSHROOM CLOUD statements about IRAQ.

Was Saddam deceiving us? Yes

Why? So the Iranians would think he had more weapons then he did and then they wouldnt attack him. Self preservation against them not us.

Did he have anything to do with 911? NO, by now we all know that even if some dont want to accept it and that we made a mistake in invading.

Was Sadam a good guy we should have left alone? NO but if we werent distracted we would have Bin Laden and Afganistan would be a lot better situation.

I think it's funny how media bias wasn't considered a problem until Fox News came along.

If Bin Laden was so easy to capture, where is he now? Why doesn't Obama have him? He had a year?

Keep dredging up Iraq. About the only politican that can say he had it right is Obama. Ohhh but he wasn't in office then he didn't have the same info to base a decision on.

I watch both MSNBC and Fox and NBC, the question shoudlnt be if these chanels are biased but how biased are they. From what I see. Fox news (Not any one talk show host) is more centerist and more likely to take a less biased tone than NBC and even CNN in most cases.....

Take it for what it is my opinion.

Concepts like fair and balanced are akin to points in mathematics. They have no width, depth or breadth. The end result is all reporting has some bias, some more than others, but true impartiality is as achievable as determining how many angels you can fit on the head of a pin. All news organizations have a bias. When it comes to individual reporters, I think the late Tim Russert came as close to unbiased as anybody.

GW let him go when a team made up of C.I.A. paramilitary operatives, Delta Force soldiers had his convoy cornered. They called in for more help but were ignored. Instead, they sent a drone that dropped pamphlets instead of hellfire missiles. That was done by the previous administration because they knew very well that if they would capture al-Qaeda, there would be no justification for an invasion in Iraq.

You didn't see that on the news, and we should have.

Jim,

At the time your supposed innaction took place the drones we had did not have the ability to carry weapons.

So you are saying that looding him in tora bora justifies the fact that this president can find him now???? I just want to make sure I understand your excuse.

That being said yes in tora bora based on intelligence resources the US dropped the ball. If however we are going to go back in time and say the reason we do not have ben laden is because we didnt capture him in 2002 then we must use the same logic and say the real reason is we didn't take posession of him in the 90s when we were offered him. By your logic then the inaction of Clinton caused the 9/11 attacks.

I do not believe this but you must. I look at this as the general policy of terorism of the United states tends to be very reactionary and due to this we have known terrorists and terorist acts that haunt our past and are loose.

That isn't something you will ever hear rom either side because it includes the idea that we are somehow responsible for our own defense.

Well put Brian. Keep in mind a few things: When Beck was on CNN, I couldn't find anyone complaining about his conservative views like they do now. Hmmmmm....

Also, the big three employee personality that are coupled to perspectives.

CNN had Lou Dobbs.

MSNBC has (I cringe as I type these two) Olberman and Maddow.

Fox News has Beck and Hannity.

Folks can cry about Bill O'Reilly all they want, he's looking out for me! He crushes the left and the right, you would only know that if you watched him. If you're in the wrong, you're in Bill's cross hairs....left or right has nothing to do with it.

In between the personalitys/opinions is the news how these orginizations see fit to distribute it. It's that simple and it's been that way for a while now.

I just can't find any logic in any conservative Fox viewer complaining about how liberal MSNBC is OR any liberal doing the opposite as many (way too many) liberals do to Fox. I mean, do these folks hear them selves?

Anyway, as I mentioned last week, we all know who rules the ratings, those end the debate. If a tv show or cable news network is soooo bad, why are soooo many people watching.

Keep up the fair perspective Brian.

Fox has more libs on than msnbc has conservatives. Fox does a god job of looking at both sides. Yes Fox is conservative, however they do balance their news programs. Maybe the commentary on Fox is slanted to the right, but the news programs are middle of the road. Remember Hannity and Colmes anyone?

======

i seem to recall that he was once an ally of this great nation -- when he got a go-ahead to drill oil where ever he wanted.
wasn't bin laden our boy when the russians were fooling around in afghastan?

this country uses countries/dictators like toilet paper. if there's a few million bucks to be made, we'll over throw a democratic contry just because we can't get what we want/need ---$$$$$$$
that silly notion that the us of a is pure as the driven snow --- well, keep jerking to that rockwell painting.

depending on which stories you believe, clinton had bin laden in gun sights -- he was at some kind of meeting with some saudi princes -- couldn't take them out -- would hurt the flow of oil. the point is, we'll never know who killed JFK and we'll never know what REALLY goes on in world affairs. it's far too complex and the powers don't want us to know.

watch FOX -- you're going to remain just as dumb as MSNBC/CBS/ or any other 'news media' outlet.
