Newport library manager fired
Mike Laughton said Monday, April 29, that the city fired him for "insolence" and "insubordination." He was paid $11 an hour for 20 hours a week.

This is one of the same problems we discussed recently in an online course that dealt with service in the library. Clear directives need to be provided for all staff members. When there are no clear rules or instructions there will always be a break down in the way responsibilities are carried out.
