2nd Opinions for Medical Problems

It is extremely wise to get a 2nd opinion with any medical condition that could result in surgery. Why would a Doctors office refuse a patient a 2nd opinion? It's absurd. Most people pay for their Health Insurance and should have the right to get that 2nd opinion. If a prior surgery did not turn out the way it should have, anybody with common sense would not want that same Doctor to do it over. By refusing the patient a 2nd opinion in that same specialty clinic tells me they are unethical and want to cover it up, instead of working with the patient.

I once heard a Doctor tell a patient if he gave them a referral to the specified Doctor the patient wanted to see, it would come out of his (the Doctor's) pocket at the end of the year. Read into that statement what you think it may have meant, but I see it clearly for what it truly is.
