The Case Of A Dog Lost, Found, Then Lost Again

There are 2 comments on the Hartford Courant story from Jul 30, 2007, titled The Case Of A Dog Lost, Found, Then Lost Again. In it, Hartford Courant reports that:

“Sure enough, as soon as we left I felt bad, the kids felt bad. Everybody was crying.”

This is a runaway dog tale with a twist.

The dog, a 5-year-old Maltese named Lexie, was found, but now her owner is lost - lost without Lexie, that is. The West Simsbury woman who found the dog is refusing to give her back and has even renamed her Madison, 'Maddie' for short.

Lisa Borrino insists that Lexie's owner, Mary Good, gave her the dog. Good, a special education teacher beset with personal problems stemming from her husband's bipolar disorder, denies that. She said she agreed only to leave Lexie with Borrino temporarily while she and her daughters, Julianne, 4, and Shannon, 14, considered Borrino's request to keep the dog. Read more

To the Borrino's that must be holding on to the "its the principle" theory. Everyone that has heard this story thinks that you are in the wrong. Why not alleviate some of this bad will and do the right thing and give BACK THE DOG.

Is anyone out there still following this story??
The court did not bring harrassment charges as there was no probable cause.
However, Attorney Borrino has move the small claims case out of small claims court and into superior court with a counter suit for $15,000!
We are still fighting to get our dog back from Attorney Borrino. Any public support is appreciated.
